The guy who tweeted out that you couldn't didn't try again for at least an hour after the tweet, so maybe he should've waited before spreading lies.

I dont get it. People are mad a guy got banned for violating the terms of his contract. As far as I've heard he signed a contract explicitly stating not to use the stream for political influence and then he turns around and does just that and people are surprised he's being punished. Especially considering if he went unpunished, Blizz could lose a large portion of their non-American consumer-base.

There are plenty of outlets this player could have used for his message other than official Blizzard streams and it makes sense to me that they wouldn't want to get involved in taking a side on the HK protests.

I predict in a month no one's going to care anymore and move onto the next giant EA disaster or Ubisoft screw-up. Then Blizzard will be flooded with people trying to re-activate their accounts.

A lot of people didnt like the original response, but its also the constant doubling down on everything that theyve also been doing that has been keeping people pissed at them.

The firing of the interviewers, the official response being that they would defend the honor of China, blacklisting pro-Hong Kong phrases in their games, preventing anyone to come to Blizzcon in Winnie the Pooh cosplay... its become clear that their priority is to defend China by censoring any negative speech about it, as opposed to screening political speech related to their events.

All of this is also on the heels of China cracking down progressively harder on HK, banning South Park for making fun of them and turning the screws on the NBA because an owner dared to issue a statement supporting the Hong Kongers.

Blizzard absolutely deserves the hate being levied at them.

That's the part I missed. Yeah they're a video game company, they shouldn't be expected to "defend the honor of China". I wont delete my accounts but I dont really expect to be playing any Blizzard games any time soon.

I always get a good feeling when somebody on the internet gets new information and actually politely changes their perspective.

After that Patrick Klepek tweet though, it kind of looks like this was just a technical issue on Blizzard's end rather than some kind of lockdown.

Source? I tried googling this and found someone's photoshopped edit of the blizzcon cosplay rules.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EGZ0XENXUAEWsnl.jpg:large

Upon going to the website such a rule didn't exist.
