After 11 deaths, I've finally managed to clear 2 zones and stay alive. The game is quite determined to kill me.

Ghost extreme is definitely a different game. There's no safety net. You miss up, die in Bolivia and the CIA disavowes any knowledge of your actions.

did they fix it so you get the correct ending if you beat everyone before the final boss?

they just assumed people would do that mission before the end. and gave a different ending.... then it tells you that you get a different ending after (insert number of people here) have been killed, even if that number is zero......

though the "bad" ending is actually the good one

there are two endings. 1 if you beat everyone 1st, and another if you don't beat everyone 1st.

the game gave you the "you didn't beat everyone ending" even if you beat everyone.

Honestly, though, I think those assholes are doing it for the cartel money. I take solace in the fact that some sicario is just going to put a bullet in them when they go to collect.
