Non-gamers. That'd be the most people, with the added loophole that gamers could simply give up gaming for a while if they needed some medical bills covered.

I choose the opposite with the loophole that non gamers can simply start gaming for a while and it helps the game industry too

Sounds like an all around win scenario. With the added benefit of exposing people who may be of the mindset that "video games are dumb" to a hobby they may actually end up enjoying. Which is why I also voted for gamers. That and the fact that I don't want to give up playing games for awhile just to see a doctor. Although, the problem remains that people who are here illegally can still get Medicare so long as they are gamers. :/

Also a valid loophole. I personally feel like it's easier to drop a major hobby than it is to adopt one you aren't interested in, but your alternative is easier to do preemptively.

This. The word gamer is cheesy so Im not backing the reverse play suggested after.

I half expected a reference to Saints Row IV, where you become President and are told you can only push one initiative through Congress, and thus have to choose between "End World Hunger" or "Fuck Cancer".

Depends on how addicted you are. For some gamers, it would theoretically be easier for them to cut off a foot than it would be for them to stop gaming even for a month.

But the real problem is how you define the term "gamer". Generally speaking, it applies to far more than just "someone who plays games". It's generally a term that refers to people who build their entire self-image around playing games and gaming culture. It's more a state of mind and a subculture complete with its own jargon, memes, and shared history.

Arguably, most people posting on these boards would fall into the gamer sphere even if they haven't played a single game in years. Because gaming has shaped a significant portion of all of our lives (up to and including leading us to post socially on a video game message board), we mostly socialize with other people of the same mindset, and so on.

None. Im not okay with stealing money from people by force to pay for things that they should be paying for themselves or turning to charity where people give consensually without being coerced.
