Yes, the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis Collection is an obvious one as it is an emulator, but I'm meaning other titles like this one.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1065020/Micro_Mages/
ROM included in installation folder (right-click the game in your Steam library, click Properties/Local Files/Browse Local Files...)

It isn't something you see often, but I'm curious right now. Unfortunately there isn't an easy way to find such games, no one has tagged them with User Tags.

And guys, no piracy stuff please. I'm just wondering what games on Steam included the ROM files for console / arcade versions.

Oh, I didn't know the Genesis collection had the actual rom files, I thought they were cached.

I know the SNK collection does not - it has the roms in a bulk manifest, but I don't know where one file begins/ends

TECHNICALLY: The old Doom games and Hexen do, they have their respective .WAD files, which is essentially the rom of the game.

They used to all just be numbered files with no identifiers, but when they added the new VR Room style emulator to replace the classic emulator, they made the ROMs easy to identify so people could do the hacking they now support on the Workshop.

Bubsy Two-Fur has the ROMs included but you have to change the file extension on them.

Ah right, I remember that one. There was a lot of discussion about that one given they basically stole the emulator to sell it. :P

I'm pretty sure most of older SNK ports are roms IIRC, esp mslug.

You aren't even really reading my posts; you're just staring at your e-mail client and fondly reminiscing about that hobo you stabbed to death. :P

Those ones don't. Seems they used to, but not any more.
