Berenstein was the first way I heard it pronounced in the cartoon and that's the way I'm sticking to it.

(nowadays it's changed to "Stain" but why should I care when they didn't bother to get it right the first time?)

I remember that's how it's spelled because that's how I pronounced it as a kid. In first or second grade the teacher corrected my pronunciation but I still knew how it was spelled.

This is the universe I live in.

Years of telling children that they're special little snowflakes incapable of wrongdoing has essentially created a generation of people who are more willing to believe that the universe itself has shifted on a quantum level than they are willing to believe that they might be incorrect about something.

Also, the general uptick in heavy marijuana usage probably plays something of a role as well. Stoners will believe pretty much anything.

After researching this subject all day and doing a little soul searching, Ive come to the conclusion that people who remember it as Berenstein Bears are real people that you can trust and that anyone who remembers it as Berenstain Bears is some type of plant replica that can not be trusted.

I don't even know if I still have the books, tbh. But I still say it's "stein".
