I started that topic, focusing that game in relation to a real world event. Not directly about the Hong Kong protests, but about that Hearthstone player talking about the protests in a gaming environment. That game published by Activision/Blizzard, which also publishes World of Warcraft, and already their General Discussion board is frantically censoring all talk about the issue (even to the point that their moderator quit the company altogether). ...so what about other gaming companies? Namely Square Enix, based in Japan, neighbor to China, 2nd best MMO to WoW, possibly a larger Chinese following than that of WoW.....how bad do their moderators and GMs have it to censor people?

Now think of this based on the common gaming consumer...... Final Fantasy, practically a 40 year old franchise, beloved by any veteran of gaming around the world. Pays nearly $60 - $100 on the base game and possibly MTX fan servicing, and a few months of subs.....puts in months of progress into his character, and suddenly he's erased from the server he was playing on? You pay over $500 to maintain the upkeep on the game, and suddenly someone with 'moral authority' decides to ban your account? "Why buy the game then?"

Now my backstory with FFXIV was that when ARR released, I played pretty faithfully to the end of the second expansion, then quit the game. 3 years and two expansions go by, and I'm thinking of returning to the game. But in light of recent events, I'm was just wondering if I have to watch what I say playing this particular game.....this is a very legit FFXIV topic.

I'm going to re-invest my time and money in that game, only to find out I could lose it all in an instant because someone in game chat typed "China" and all the alarm bells started to go off, and I'm on a list?....Obviously, I can't go to the game's official forums, so I come here.

...and what do I get? The exact same fucking thing I was afraid of......the only saving grace is not giving gFAQs my money.

Dude had something to say, he said it, got blasted for it....he shouldn't be mistreated for it, by the NFL or anyone else. But he was.

Racial injustice and systematic oppression in the country is obviously wrong, but how far does he take that message? Is he one of those types who sees racism everywhere, even in clouds? Is he just saying those things because he wants to please his fanbase, so they buy his brand? Or has he actually made a TED talk speech about the finer points of systemic racism in the country; clauses in the constitution, policies that specifically target non-whites that prevent advancement?

To my interpretation of HK's events, billion of people are crammed into the street to fight on the simple basic notion of freedom. I mean, a poster on this thread linked a video of protester doing a flying kick on a policeman trying to snatch away other protester.

US deludes themselves on the imaginary power of social media, and demands policies of immediate self-entitlement to balance the issue; even at the expense of other people. Sometimes without a clear unifying message, which is why movements like Occupy Wall-Street is such a failure. No different that someone who can articulate themselves well to express their opinion like Kapernick, over someone like a random tweeter seeing racism in the clouds.....what's the message? Who's responsible for the systemic racism? Who's making these policies in 2019? Give me a name, and I'll happily say "F that guy".... but the problem is the majority of people who are concerned don't know how to unify and solidify their message unless there is something in it for them. "I see racism in the clouds, where's my reparation?".... that's not selling anything; showing me it's more about getting a free meal, and perhaps their cause could be more pronounced to the nation (even HK's issues). And until they start unifying and solidifying, the best shot they have is to keep the argument in a haze of generalization, using buzzwords like "systemic racism" in a fashion where no can know what exactly is the rule, the policy, or the law that's keeping non-white people from advancing in this society.....not unlike HK, where the message is pretty clear cut and focused.

So again, it's kind of weak for you to plop down the Kapernick topic where really his story has very little to do with videogames at all. So he's never going to be on the cover of the next Madden game because he bit the hand that fed to preserve his beliefs, a shame, but again I don't follow football..... but MY topic is about the videogame industry directly, here on gFAQs. With a game I do follow, and a real world event that could impact it. ....so why get bent over something that isn't being said?

See the difference between you and me is that I can articulate myself well enough to prove how that topic was not in violation of the TOU. The mere fact that it touches on the China/HK issue and gFAQs' bias for them was the determining factor in why they arbitrary erased it. Therefore until a moderator is brave enough to acknowledge this issue, it's obviously they are pro-China; either by belief and commitment, or by prostitution. The topic wasn't "off-topic" as it involved the game directly, like any other topic on a game about mechanics, community, fan-fiction, or rallying other players for 'quality of life' changes to the game...... my topic actually brushed on most of those aspects, so it wasn't even close to being 'off-topic'.

But you being the troll you are, along with your alt-account/invisible friends to back you up, is just saying "it's fair", while not even quoting the actual article that was made "20 years ago", adding no explanation......you're JUST saying "it's fair" to troll and nothing more.
