I mean if you look at the entire industry as a whole, a great portion of revenue does come from overseas.

Not sure. I know CBS are 80% owned by a private US company, but not sure about the other 20%. Chinese companies like Tencent have invested in a lot of popular foreign companies which I imagine is at least part of the reason some will bend over backwards for the Chinese.

Under the new dispute system, we no longer have the ability to respond because it is done under a vote during a 24-hour period, as opposed to a single person writing out a response and there being multiple dispute levels.

Also idk why were instantly being accused of having a love affair with China. Personally I am with the Hong Kong protestors all the way, even though I unfortunately dont see an end result where China lets them have what they want. They were doomed from the start when the UK handed them over to China.

Seems like a legitimate question, no malice or "trolling" intent behind it.

I mean this whole debacle with Activision, is asking all sorts of questions toward the industry as a whole, and anyone involved like third party videogame forums like gFAQs. What does that say for the gamers here? Or online in their respective game right now? These are questions I want to know. I'm Canadian, I love Final Fantasy XIV, and I love freedom too. So I like to know what people's opinion are on the matter if I continue to further invest my time in that game, before I say the wrong thing and get my account cancelled losing all my progress and the money I put into it.

Now IIRC, that topic I made went on for two whole pages, with some insightful comments that prove it was a serious topic, and it was take seriously enough to keep the discussion going,

And you'd be blameless, except for the part as to why you didn't reinstate my post and thread after the fact, and you never explained anything at all......so that leaves the one inevitable solution....

So here we are, having a mini-version of Activision's drama over the same thing. And the evidence is against you now.

the TOU amounts to nothing but what mood the moderators are in, depending on how often they get their rag changed....

The topic as I explained above was about FFXIV, and the relation of a real world issue, which isn't breaking the rules at all. Since it's a issue that does impact how one can play that game. A question that can be applied to any game.

funny you think there is a double standard here. So I'll guess I'll explain it to you then....tldr: He had no speech to suppress.

For starters, if I were you, I'd ask this same question to him, if he wasn't in warned status now.....

I mean, all he's done since I presented this topic was insult me without any real discussion to the topic at hand. He said "it was a fair moderation", I'm saying "it's not (and explained as such)....then he started making gifs attacking me directly, instead of hammering out a discussion where I could be wrong on any level, from the actual China topic, to gFAQs shoddy moderation practices. He didn't. ...and he lost, by hanging himself with his own rope, meant for me.

So by an large, Bulbasaur is a troll, who couldn't keep up with the conversation, and decided to use his baser instincts to swamp the discussion with his trolling antics. Trolls like that drown out the core issue with any given topic, and the point gets lost.

If I didn't report him, and took his bait, and cuss him out....then I would've been the one in 'warned status....that's how the game is played here. I would've ran circles around this guy, and actually hurt his feeling through the computer screen, and gFAQs mod would've dealt with me, silencing me and my speech about China's influence on the gaming community, and basic freedoms in broader strokes.....and from 'experience', it's not outside the realm of possibility, that this troll is a 'cooler' of sorts. Better to use a troll to discredit the legit hot topic claim, than to use a moderator to deal with it, and expose themselves as censors.

He wanted to suppress my speech, because ..."I'm right"...and he was too inept to compete. He had 'no speech' to suppress to begin with. So there is no double-standard here.

If he had a claim, even one I didn't like, and abused the report function.....yes, that's suppressing his speech. But that's not what happened.
