I also live in the central florida area, and usually a brown powdery substance is gonna be either heroine, or really good Molly

That said, theyre not ever that dark of a brown, usually a lightish tan or beige

When you said teenage daughter my first thought was they are probably some diet pills and they aren't in their proper container since she isn't old enough to walk into a GNC and buy them herself.

Heroin is kept in rock form, like a nugget. Never grinded. You would also notice a strong vinegar smell by now. Its never carried around in pills like that either

This is almost certainly the correct scenario, with one of these obvious branches:

1. Some kid ate a handful and liked the psychoactive results, and he or she is practicing being an actual drug dealer later, while using "but it's legal!" as a fallback.
2. Someone called the niece "fat", and she's sneaking diet pills.
