I visited work for a bit because someone wanted to talk about their schedule, and then I went to Walmart to buy some cheap walking shoes and some more undies (hi palmer)

then I headed to HEB to do some actual grocery shopping since they're cheaper than Walmart. it was at this point I realized I didn't have my phone

I know I had it leaving work because I texted my girlfriend while in the parking lot after

I don't know what happened next

I'm aware theres a Find My phone feature if you have a gmail attached to it but I never have my location on so that ended up not helping me. It DOES say the last time it was used, but it lines up with the text I sent

it had about 80% charge at the time, but I had people call it and it goes straight to voice mail. It should not have a dead battery. Its off.

So I'm thinkin either someone found it and disassembled it or it got destroyed somehow

I went and searched the parking lot to walmart and I see no signs of a smashed phone anywhere. Nobody has turned it in

I'm super bummed out. I had that phone for 4 years

bruh you gotta keep location services on, just set it to not allow it to be used by apps unless you specifically say so

Who is your provider? You can contact them and they can straight-up ban it from being used on celluar, even with a new SIM card until they undo it, even if it's wiped. Maybe they'll turn it in after that, I've heard of it happening.

I guess I'm just paranoid or uncomfortable having it on. I guess THIS is one downside to that mentality

The Find My Phone feature allows you to lock the phone. and even attach a number and a message to the lost screen

Yeah but there's software to easily get around that.

If you have it locked off cell coverage it's possible there's a way around that with a jailbreak, but if you're updated past 12.4 there's no jailbreak available.

I went to my provider, cricket, and they had no idea what I was talking about

I was like, my phone of 4 years is lost, I would like to disable it

they were like all we can do is sell you a new one

they DID bring up the Find My Phone thing but I painstakingly kept telling them I already did all of that and they just kept repeating it

"theres a thing called Find My phone"

I already did all of that

"and you can lock your phone there"

I already did all of that

"you can find out the last location"

I already did all of that

etc etc

so that was no help

Oh weird, maybe because they dont have their own network?

I know for a fact you can with AT&T, because my roommate found a phone and tried to activate it with his T-Mobile sim, and it straight up told him it was locked by AT&T.

Cricket uses AT&T so it should be doable. However, if your phone is off... don't know what to tell you. You need to have the SIM card tied to your account if you want it disabled. Chances are someone decided to use it for themselves. People suck.

I appreciate it, but as I've said in the other topic, this USUALLy happens to me. When it rains it pours. Its just been awhile

but I still have my house and my job, my pets and family are okay. it could be worse

My girlfriend is on the verge of breaking up with me

She has a kid, and she lives on her own, and she has Aplastic anemia. So either she has to cancel when we make plans because of the kid or she randomly gets sick.

I get bummed, i guess I can't hide it, but I made it clear i'm okay with it and I understand. I mean at worst I'm just like awww okay its fine :)

this past weekend her mother was supposed to visit, and she was supposed to meet me for the first time. My mom got involved (my mom can be nosey and intrusive sometimes) and made a cake to extend a friendly hand from our family to theirs. she flaked. apparently she does that all of the time. So my mother got her feelings hurt and lashed out and started talking bad.

My girlfriend took it to heart, she hates disappointing people and because of her mom, she indirectly disappointed my mom. and she said shes just tired of disappointing me in general. And I'm not, I try to communicate this

she said she might be happier if we were not dating anymore because she doesn't have to worry about such things

This is a conversation we had midday yesterday and its been eating me away. We did speak last night but it wasn't super productive. Shes just upset. i haven't heard from her today. I probably won't reach out until shes ready

We've been dating for 10 months. I do love her. She did still say she loved me yesterday so I GUESS thats a good thing but I'm in shambles right now

Long story short, she found a cat while moving into a new apartment complex

she started feeding it and the cat started taking a liking to her

the landlord called her and said cats aren't allowed and then proceeded to calling the pound

they picked up the cat

then I picked up the cat from the pound and adopted her.

turns out she was just barely preggers

she gave birth a month ago

my girl wanted a kitten once they got old enough

today they opened their eyes and started walking around

I showed her pictures, but my girl doesn't want the kitten anymore

whelp, thats a bad sign
