Some people talk about how weak East Blue is but I always loved getting to know the characters in those smaller arcs.

Luffy is really great. Some people dislike him because he's not relatable, but the point is that he is crazy awesome and he brings the best out of the other, more relatable characters.

And East Blue is great too. The scale is smaller but there are some solid villains and very good character-driven stories.

We both loved Stampede. Saw the dub unfortunately but it was still our favorite of the movies. So many people showed up and we got to wee some unique interactions and team ups.

She has officially given up on Naruto filler. Right at the last like 6-8 or whatever it is arc. She also skipped a handful of eps throughout.

Final favorite characters are Kakashi, Iruka, Shikamaru, Sasuke and Lee.

We will see what she thinks if Shippuden.

Also we found and watched a japanese stage show of Naruto on YouTube and it was actually really well done. Went through the first shows main plot essentially with lots if cuts of course (but added Lee training). And it was no subtitles so I cant speak to the dialogue but it looked cool and was easy to follow if you've seen the show.

Oh and we are watching Soul Eater now in case I didnt mention that. Enjoying it but she isnt like super into it. She doesnt hate Blackstar though so he is doing very well.

I only read Soul Eater's manga and I heard the anime's end is terrible.

Not like the manga's end is amazing but at least it's somewhat creative.

Yeah it has a really unsatisfying way for the final bad guy to lose.

Soul Eater manga spoilers:

In the manga none of the main 3 ever surpass the big bad but they all get really damn strong so they manage to beat him with a 3v1, with the help of Crona sacrificing him/herself.

And what is cool is how they each get strong for completely different reasons.

Maka is the only one to complete a death scythe, so she should be the strongest in theory. She is actually the weakest, with is interesting. Though her anti-madness powers are more useful than anything else in the verse.

Kid never completes his weapons but he becomes a full-fledged Shinigami which just makes him OP by default.

And Black Star is the strongest of the three for no reason other than he's fucking Black Star. Even Asura asks him whether he's even human during the fight.

I dont remember details from the show so I will have to compare more later but I do remember the final fight ends when some one just punches out Asura in like a surprise punch. I think either Soul or Maka
