I've started three anime from this season so far. Watched all three episodes of each.
Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! is fun so far. As a light-hearted isekai about cute girls it's like a slightly better Endro. I like the characters more in this. Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun is fine, though I'm not sure the concept of a human bumbling their way through every demonic situation will hold up for a whole season. Also I'm usually a fan of high-energy annoying characters and the green haired demon is almost too much for me. Ascendance of a Bookworm is slow, but it's my favorite so far. I'll admit my anime cred has fallen away. I've only watched like a dozen shows from 2019.
I've been busy with other hobbies but my crazy backlog isn't helping either. I figure I should whittle that down before starting anything else that catches my eye but most of the shows I haven't finished are ones that suck. Do I really want to watch two more seasons of Symphogear? No, I don't. Carole and Tuesday beated. Pretty good stuff for the most part! Most of the performance were great, and the two leads were delightful. The rest of the cast was a little more a mixed bag. Some of the temporary characters were enthralling, like Desmond and the Mermaid Sisters, but plenty of them were forgettable and not so great. For major characters, Angela was kinda meh, and Valerie got much less interesting as it went along. Kinda wish the show had focused more on Carole and Tuesday's character development.
The last two episodes were also pretty weak for an ending. Didn't feel as personal as I would've liked, and the last song was lame. --- All the stars in the sky are waiting for you. ... Copied to Clipboard!
