I really like the Black Keys and have been listening to them for a long time, I think they're phenomenal musicians but something felt off to me. Like they had two other guitarists playing the leads and main riffs while Dan Auerbach would play some chords and run the main solos. I dunno, I feel like if I saw them years ago I would have enjoyed it more. Still a great set tho and his voice was on point. Patrick Carney looked a little sluggish.

Are you at Life is Beautiful by any chance? Sounds like it based on the artists you've mentioned. Sucks about Lil Wayne but from what I've heard he's not very good live anyway.

How is it this year? I went 2017 and 2018 but was unable to go this year unfortunately. Definitely one of my favorite music festivals, it's got a very unique feel to it since it's right in Downtown Las Vegas. Gorillaz in 2017 and Odesza in 2018 were just absolutely phenomenal, I liked this years lineup but I don't think it's as good as the past two years, still solid though and definitely would've loved to go.

Yeah I'm there. I'm local and I got the hookup with VIP passes. It's my second time. I think I went in 2016 tok. I think the lineup was solid on Friday but Saturday and Sunday have a lot of down time for me.

I've seen 070 Shake, Walk the Moon, Billie Eilish, Portugal the Man, Louis the Child, Muna, Maggie Rogers, Dashboard Confessional, and Black Keys. At least those are the ones I've stayed for more than a song.

So far the best set easily was Tash Sultana. Portugal the Man was awesome too but I've seen them like 12 times now lol Dashboard was a bucket list type thing for me and they really did well. I'm not into a lot of the other people I checked out, not into DJs too much either. I'd say Louis the Child was really not good. And ive never heard of Maggie Rogers before but she was definitely lip singing.

Billie Eilish was surprisingly bad ass. She controlled the crowd so well. I've never given her a real listen other than a few of her hits but shes definitely a good performer.

I plan on seeing Toto, Masego, Rae Sremmurd, Gallant, Phantogram, Post Malone, Vampire Weekend, and maybe Monsta x tonight if we can make it.

Oh nice, Ive never tried VIP for any festivals before, how is it there? I know you said you got the hookup but would you recommend it for the price it is to others?

Yeah, Ive heard Billie Eilish is pretty good live too. My group doesn't really listen to her music at all but half of them went to see her at Coachella this year and said they were surprised how good it was. I wouldve been down to check her out but I was getting my face melted off by Aphex Twin and Tame Impala at the time, no regrets there lol.

Post Malone is also surprisingly a pretty damn good performer, I think youll have a good time at his set if you end up going. Hes a lot of fun and sings quite well which I honestly didnt really expect from him considering his public image and all that. Seen him 3 times myself.

I know you said you dont like DJs much, but if you somehow read this before they play, consider checking out Polo & Pan and Zedd. Polo & Pan are these really cool dudes who have unique salsa/cumbia-esque style that they blend with their electronic sound which is really interesting, and they kill it live. Im sure you know of Zedd since hes a pretty big mainstream pop EDM radio hit maker, but the production and visuals of his new show this year is absolute bonkers. Worth at least walking by and checking out, even if the music itself isnt your type of tea.

I dont think either are worth it tbh. I would just save that extra money to buy booze and food. And it was definitely an older crowd in most of the VIP areas.

Billie Eilish was pretty nuts. She even got some mosh pits going lol her performance was great. The only thing I didnt like was how obnoxious the crowd was.

Post closed the night out last night and he killed it. Dude put on one hell of a show. Him and 070 shake were the only hip hop artists I saw at the festival that actually performed their songs instead of hyping a recording.

I saw your post too late to see those guys but my friends went and saw Zedd and Polo & Pan and they said it was nuts. I'll have to check them out next time. I think Zedd is always here in vegas at some nightclub.

i volunteered at Outside Lands here in SF last month and my shift was located at the main stage where he was playing. the first 20 minutes of "his set" was his DJ just playing random songs (not even wayne songs specifically but he did play Stuntin Like My Daddy and Hustler Musik). Then Wayne finally came out and was all over the place. Luckily my shift had ended during his set so i just peaced out lol

Fuck Lil Wayne. He left our show early in VA. Said the crowd wasn't his swag and that he'd likely quit the tour.

This is like his fourth or fifth cancellation this year.

Wow thats expensive. Ill just stick to GA for now then, maybe when I get much older and cant keep up with the GA crowd and the overall physical aspect of a festival Ill switch over to VIP, provided I have the funds for it.

I saw the livestream of Postys performance last night and man he just keeps getting better and better as a performer. His Coachella 2018 set was really badly received, mostly due to him being really intoxicated for it, but Im glad hes getting better and improving, as he has been in other shows since that Coachella.

I actually recommend against seeing Zedd at a nightclub (or really most of the other big name Vegas residency DJs that play there often). Nightclub DJ sets are very basic, bland, and minimal compared to the festival and touring shows those same DJs put on, which makes sense since they pump out those club shows weekly. The production and visuals arent gonna be anywhere near as good. For DJs it usually goes touring shows>festival shows>club shows in terms of quality.

He did the same thing in st Louis last week. He's been a real bitch lately
