Imo why women feel offended when men they don't find attractive show attraction towards them is because they think "wow only unattractive guys show interest in me, is this what I deserve?" It's like if only fat chicks showed interest in you. You'd be offended too.

Fuckin lol. Copypasta'd from a certain website. Here are quotes from them.

GabrielleApril 8, 2015 at 8:59 AM

I'm uncomfortable with the sexuality of men that I'm not attracted to. I experience a strong visceral rejection response whenever men who aren't attractive to me express any sort of attraction towards me. This could even be a good friend that I would have no problems hugging or being in close contact with regularly. The moment I realize his attraction, and I'm not attracted to him, I feel gross, even if he hasn't done anything. I think that's where the idea of "creep" comes from. We associate that nasty feeling with its source, and therefore, probably unfairly label a lot of men who might not have done anything socially unacceptable. It's probably something we got from our ancestors, to instinctively escape from undesirable males who want to mate with us since the chances of being raped in that situation were far higher during caveman times.

Interesting.

Gabrielle, I relate to this so much as well! I actually feel insulted when a man I am not physically attracted to shows interest in me. To be honest, I find it revolting. This really stuck out to me: "The moment I realize his attraction, and I'm not attracted to him, I feel gross, even if he hasn't done anything."

AnonymousApril 9, 2015 at 12:05 PM
Same here girl. I even find it offensive honestly. Maybe I'm just a bitch haha

AnonymousApril 12, 2015 at 5:21 AM
I second (or fourth) you, Gabrielle! Your first two sentences have stuck me on point. I am very happy with my body and familiar with male sexuality. But whenever I spot a man who does not interest me in the least and he is checking me out, I walk past faster, look away and depending on how uninterested I am I may even make it clear through eye contact.

AnonymousMay 13, 2015 at 2:00 AM
I hope you all realise that the problem in this case is you, not the man.

meganJuly 17, 2015 at 9:37 AM
I fifth this. I have a friend who always gets a little too grabby after a couple drinks and it makes my skin crawl just thinking about it. I also took a human resources class recently and when the instructor asked what defines sexual harrassment, the (off the record) "answer" was the degree of attraction the victim has towards the offender. Its so true when you think about it! A guy at work we think is attractive can certainly get away with a suggestive comment more easily than someone we don't!

MALSeptember 8, 2019 at 8:08 PM
Damn, reading these comments is enough to turn any man into a misogynist, i really hope you all get cheated on or die alone.

interesting. The trick then, is to not show attraction to women that you can surmise won't want you.

There's a fat ugly girl who goes to raves and still thinks she has a chance with me, even though I've turned her down many times, and I've never threatened to kill her. I just don't like her. She creeps me out.

That depends entirely on the person and what exactly they are feeling. If you think respect for feelings should be universal, you haven't had some of the awful, manipulative people in your life I have.

How are all my posts antagonistic, or even this one?

I just thought it would be pretty obvious to guys especially, given how common it appears for them to speak out in disgust if an "ugly girl" likes them. I was more saying that people do actually realise this, they've just never thought about it before.

I apologise if you feel like I came across as aggressive or condescending, I just assumed most of CE would be aware of this feeling given just how common it is for men to go "Urrgh, an uggo likes me. Gross!"

It was far more surprise than anything else.

Probably because most guys will also sleep with women they dont find attractive when theyre desperate enough. We dont have that creeped out feeling instinct I guess

I turned down sex in my younger years a few times and never felt icky by the advance. I felt kind of awkward but that's pretty much a given. I actually just felt more confident because I knew I could if I wanted

Probably (among other factors) influenced by power dynamics. Women are aware that a good percentage of men could physically overpower them and take what they want, which leads to a deeper revulsion when it comes to unwanted attraction.

Just a guess tho.

Well yeah...

That's how most good looking guys feel when an unattractive woman with a crush buzzes around them making shit awkward. A lot of times those guys also get painted as a villain just because they got tired of humoring a clingy sea hag making irritating passes at them...

The difference is men are more likely to still hump & dump an unattractive woman to take off the edge between real prospects, particularly now that hook up culture is openly encouraged more thanks to things like apps and societal shifts. This still seems to occur despite the risk of having a baby with an unattractive woman. Testosterone...

Women, on the other hand, are less likely to do the same with an unattractive man (even though they can). One of the biggest reasons is the risk of getting pregnant with an unattractive man's baby. And I'm not saying any of that has to change; I'm just pointing out how things generally play out.
