Well, I've been thinking of giving another chance to the military shooter genre, and almost all of these are available for next to nothing on 360, so I was thinking of picking one up. Thought I'd ask the board for some opinions.

Not a bad thing you didn't have room for Black Ops 3. I was told it does not include a campaign unless it's the PS4/XBO version. I think it actually says online-only on the box.

Anyway, I was in a similar situation as you OP. I got a PS3 this year and wanted to give CoD a try, so I got the Modern Warfare Trilogy. Didn't really like it though, it's way too linear and flawed. I decided not to try any other CoD games as a result. That said, I voted Modern Warfare 3 because that one I actually kind of liked and it seemed that each mission was memorable.

If you haven't played FEAR 3 maybe check that out, I thought it was better than CoD.

I got all of those except Advance Warfare

If we're discussing the campaign mode Modern Warfare is where it's at (especially 2) followed by Ghosts (I know it was considered the worst cus of multiplayer, but the story is fantastic)

What I did not like at all was BlOps 2, there's a new mode added to the story which obviously wasn't tested and made me give up on the BlOps series

Thankfully, my 360 has no online capability, so I'm sticking to the campaign mode.

Advanced Warfare wants a 4 GB install, but my hard drive is only 7 GB, so that might be a no-go. Fortunately, none of the others are hard to get, and I am leaning towards one of the Modern Warfare games. Will check prices.

I wouldnt worry too much about online play, I dunno if a lot of people will be playing any of those anyway. The community always seems to move on once a new game comes out.

That being said MW or MW2 are the best ones Ive played. Ive always loved the CoD campaigns more than the multiplayer. Each game feels like its own little movie. The campaigns of MW and MW2 are incredible.

As far as online goes, theyre all fairly similar, but advanced warfare is very different as they include a lot of futuristic stuff

Going online is probably not for the best since many lobbies are going to be hacked and full of cheaters at this point.

I'd go with blackops for best single player game experience. Really MW through black ops 2 were good campaigns. With MW1 and 2, Black ops 1 and 2 being stand outs. I liked world at war as well but there are some pretty frustrating/cheap parts in it if you don't play on a really low difficulty.
