Hey, my favorite type of Gust music vs. my (almost) favorite type of Falcom music! The vocals in Aoki Negai are kind of a miss though. The other big problem I see is that Aoki Negai tries to go for the same kind of appeal as Scorpio, but Scorpio just does it a lot better.

Groovy '90s PCE Ys music is my other favorite type of Falcom music! BaBaN might not be something I would've picked for this game's setlist, but everything in this OST is great so it doesn't really matter. Keeper of Lust kinda just sounds like low-energy generic rock, except for that part in the middle that's kinda cool. Still, easy match.

These last few years of VGMCs, GGs, and BOST5 have brought me to the conclusion that outside of a few iconic pieces, I actually don't like classic Mega Man music nearly as much as I do MMX or MMZ music. Despite its short length, Intro is probably my favorite of the MM5 tracks we've heard in the contest so far. Everything from Dusk (today's song included) has been a consistent 6/10 for me, which is enough for me to keep voting for it for the time being.

any other pairing from these two games, I pick Shallie. Wtf is Aoki Negai doing in the lower 3. actually that's not true i pick sunlight filtering through the trees over it too but okay this was written last night which was a bad night but i'm still leaving it because i still sort of feel that way but whatever.

Second match, I feel like the Persona 5 pick is not very emblematic of what I think is strongest about the OST (which most of the rest of the nom is, which on one hand is kind of weird when I phrase it like that, but looking back I also composed my offerings for a lot of OSTs as trying to be very varied, rather than playing to a specific strength, so I can't really fault others for doing the same? Anyways I'm not sure what I'm trying to say here but I'm not terribly fond of Beasts so it winds up being a really close match.

intro is way too short and nothing happens. which is almost unfair to run because Run's really cool imho but yeah.

Scorpio some good ol' guitar funtimes. Aoki Negai is nice, but the chorus is a bit of a downer. Don't like her singing style there.

Beasts drones on a bit, but it's still good. Keeper is that Persona style that I like sometimes but it's not done particularly well here IMO.

Hello and welcome again to last minute abridged writeups: Live from my college campus library edition.

MATCH 1

Ahhhh why do this two songs have to be this good! Gust vs. Falcom match where both songs are very much to my tastes. Slightly favoring Scorpio here but I really like Aoki Negai too.

MATCH 2

Spooky spooky spooky. Thats what Beasts as Black as Night sounds like, but unfortunately, its the kind of Falcom stuff thats significantly weaker to me. Wouldve been a lot easier if this was Scorpios opponent and Aoki Negai was here! Then I couldve voted for both songs.

Keeper of Lust is pretty good! Keeping the usual theme of Persona music being good to me.

Run is much less tiring than the previous Dusk song. Intro is Intro. Please do not make this the vote to tie this match for the 3rd time in a row thank you.
