Buff was trending down as an impact player already, and has struggled with injuries. He'd have been overrated even before this. I'm not saying he's totally undraftable at this point, it'd be worth throwing a flyer on him super late if he's still around, but based on his pre-season rankings, he won't be. Its categories again this year and i can never decide how many goalies to draft (2 or 3) 8 people Standard positions: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, Categories: Forwards/Defensemen Stat Categories:Goals, Assists, Plus/Minus , Penalty Minutes , Powerplay Points , Shots on Goal , Hits Goaltenders Stat Categories: Wins (W), Goals Against (GA), Saves (SV), Shutouts (SHO) Minimum 3 starts per week ! Also important we can only drop/add players 12 times the entire season so I cant just stream backups every week So as you can see we dont do save % but rather just saves. So this changes the strategy here slightly. I've wavered I usually have 3 goalies. We have a few people who ride with 2 and one guy with 4 usually. So this year I'm debating going 2 only. 3 goalies never seemed to help me. Goals against was always losing category for me vs someone with 2. Shut outside are rare and you cant ever count on them. Wins was debatable having a 3rd goalie as it's generally a backup & saves was the only easy one to almost guaranteed win since youd generally always accumulate more saves. Being that theres only 8 of us there's always some halfway decent goalies left Incase of injury. I've just never done the 2 goalie set up before I always felt it was safest with 3. I guess the brightside of having only 12 drop and pickups in an 8 man league is that theres generally some decent players left if youre desperate at some point. IR allowing a "free" pick up for the duration of IR also helps. League owner is debating changing it from 12 to 15 so that helps. In previous years I've reached or taken good goalies early like Vaslevsky or Bishop but it never seemed to get me very far. So i ended up with 2 goalies Anyways this is how it worked out. I picked 7th. C - Sidney Crosby C - Austin Matthews LW - Taylor Hall LW - Filip Forsberg RW - Blake Wheeler RW - Vladimir Tarasenko D - Kris Letang D - John Carlson D - Dougie Hamilton D - Rasmus Dahlin G - John Gibson G - Petr Mrazek Bench - C - Mika Zibanejab Bench - RW - Phil Kessel Bench - LW - Anders Lee Bench - D - Dustin Byfuglien Ya I know Byfuglien but it was literally my last pick so I felt it worth the risk. I also took one or two dudes who were better for Penalty Minutes or Hits vs actual Goals or assists seeing as every category carries equal weight in the end. We shall see. Knew about losing their goalie but didnt even realize Panarin was gone too.
