Quite the update here, one of the largest I've composed in quite some time with 342 new characters bringing the total number up to 20800. This is the October update featuring new characters from games released last month, your nominations, Borderlands 3 from September that I forgot as well as random other things. Can you find characters added this month inspired by real life events (that aren't Halloween or Day of the Dead)?

A couple of things I maybe noticed: World Animal Day, World Space Week, #VerifySatan. This is probably a stretch, but I also thought the STALKER noms might've been a reference to Chernobyl reactor No. 2 catching fire in Oct. 1991.

Aww that shoots my theory in the foot then. It's trended a couple of times over the past month to put a verification symbol on the Satan account on twitter.

You're correct, but not for the same reason! STALKER is probably the most well known series that is Ukrainian based, and that country has been around in the news a lot this last month!

Also there was one add for Oktoberfest; kinda hard to round up characters based around that.

I will be continuing to add new characters by the year tag updates for the next few years, but I will probably bring that to an end once I reach... perhaps the late 2000's or so. I'm curious to know what people in general think about this. My thinking for that range is because as the years progress, obviously the pool of those years grows ever larger. It's especially larger now because with the creation of Steam and the flourishing of the indie game environment we have now, games are more and more numerous than they ever possibly have been. In both number and quality, I'd argue. I also feel like nominations, in general, come from more recent years (generally dates of this last decade).

I definitely wanted to bolster the 90's, that was for sure. To revisit older games and add characters from games that have perhaps fallen by the wayside and forgotten about. For posterity as well as in the good faith that perhaps in the long time having representation from games like this might be a boon in some future scenario. I feel like the early 2000's probably are just as lacking on representation as the 90's in general were, so I will definitely continue to scour the internet for various gems forgotten for now. But I do want a decided upon cutoff year. Any thoughts?

That's not a bad idea. As far as picking a year with some type of substance goes, that's not a terrible call for one. Your opinion is pretty important since you're the one that actually plays through those updates specifically apart from the total year tag. I'll keep that date in mind for sure.

The first TV Character update since like June is here! 280 new characters, many of whom premiered in 2019. In addition are major updates for the Once Upon a Time and Orange is the New Black casts, both of which now have individual tags available. Use the New tag to play the update, or the orangeisthenewblack or onceuponatime tags to play individual shows.

Alright so I've probably got a little out of control on this next update; I stumbled across a lot more than I usually do and as such expect a rather large boost for 1999.

New's up first. All the Koudelka and Nocturne entries were great! Pretty fun to see all the TM4 wash-outs too even if most of them are pretty bad. Then all the weird Dreamcast stuff too is always interesting.

Yeah I think the Dreamcast really contributed to the amount of new stuff I added this time. This is really the first year of having three major players to pull from.

Senna is in the next update yes. Aphelios doesn't seem like he's coming out this month, so most likely will be in December's update.
