I still need to catch up on attack on titan anime.

Just finished season 1 of aria. What a magical show. It gives me a lot of what I want from adventure anime without going anywhere, in an incredibly relaxed slice of life format. Glad I still have like 30 episodes left from the other seasons. I hope they all live up to this first season's quality.

It's also weird, the show kind of makes me depressed in a weird way. Definitely an odd effect it has on me.

Ah, that sounds like a good idea. I'll probably do that as well.

I'm hoping to play astral chain soon. Anyone here played it? Looks a lot like chaos legion for the PS2 which I loved even though it seems like no one else knew it existed.

Yeah, almost finished it actually.
It's good but has a lot of unnecessary fluff, some fiddly platforming and a camera that sucks hard at times, aside from those issues it's fun

I'm downloading it right now although I might not get to play it much until tomorrow or the next day. It'd be great if this holds me over till code vein at the end of the month.

Also glad that tomorrow is the start of the anime week for me. Dr Stone friday, demon slayer and maybe fire force saturday and then vinland saga on sunday. Probably would have dropped fire force if I had much else to do but I don't so here we are.

Damn not only is new Dr Stone episode good for the usual reasons, they hit us with that yuri image. Fantastic show.

Astral chain has been fun so far. I'm only on file 3 so not that far in but damn is there a lot to remember mid combat. I love it. Kinda reminds me of playing armored core actually just in that fighting effectively requires tons of different commands and managing a lot of different stuff. I wish there was an upgrade for extra chain length.

I love Dr. Stone until ch100, it just got boring for some reason. I think I'll pick it back up after I finish steel ball run and jojolion.

SBR was kinda annoying to read at first but seeing D4C fight and Civil War has been pretty fun.

To be fair to capcom which they probably don't deserve (iceborne still 4 months behind on PC fuck you capcom), chaos legion didn't sell well and nobody knew it existed.

I finished file 4 of astral chain and I think I'm getting decent at it. The controls finally seem to be firmly in my brain even though I never even consider slashing through enemy attacks. I kinda wish I could normal counter and sync attack on a perfect dodge instead of having to choose one.

I really enjoy a lot of the stupid extras like adopting a cat on each level or finding the hidden toilet paper in each level for the toilet fairy. They probably could use a higher ratio of action to walking around though.

Just watched some Escanor (sp?) fights from Seven Deadly Sins and... good fucking god, that show looks even worse than I thought. The dialogue was ridiculous, they were talking power levels, etc. Man, am I going to feel stupid when I eventually watch it.

Otherwise I think I've finally resolved to get rid of my old anime VHS tapes since... well, VHS. A few I had bought and just never watched. Going to get rid of my other VHS stuff, too, I imagine. Probably. Maybe I'll rewatch the stuff I taped on VHS first.

YES more people hating on seven deadly sins. Felt like everyone loves that show while I very much did not.

Vinland saga episode is late for some reason. Lame. Seems like nothing much is gonna happen this season in demon slayer. Just some light hearted training and recovery. Maybe they'll set up the next arc but theres not enough time left in the season to do much. I'll be so bummed if the legal trouble ufotable is going through somehow delays a second season or even worse gets it sold to another studio.

:/ Darn wellI need my non-fantasy/sci-fi anime to be really good to make up for the lack of cyborgs and and dragons. Example: Kids on the slope; step down but still good would be something like Silver Spoon, Hanasaku Iroha or Princess Jellyfish.

Also this ones fantasy but still a really great show, Land of the Lustrous, if anyone still needed convincing here is a good promotional and the OP:

Ugh I dont know what to watch. All the shows I want to watch I am forgoing because I'm watching them with friends:
-Evangelion series (yeah first time watch, currently in the final stretch. Everyone almost got destroyed by a single angel and shinji's eva ran out of power but his mother awakened the Eva, oh yeah then he fused with it for while).

-Dr. Stone (This cant come out fast enough, loving the technology/science being brought to the stone world).
-Vinland Saga (Just saw the first three of these last night, boy was impressed. The animation is great and the story is interesting. Love the world and the vikings.)

This season does have some good shows. Personally I feel like vinland saga is anime of the year contender so don't sleep on that however I also feel that the last few episodes have been a minor dip in quality.

Dr Stone is great. My only non issue with it is that it has shonen pacing so every episode feels like it's over in 2 minutes. Wish I had the whole thing to binge. I also hope it can remain interesting once they have a decent chunk of modern equipment made cause I could see that being a potential pitfall for the show.

I need to check out astra lost in space but at this point I may just wait till it's over (unless it's 2 cour?).

I'm like right on the edge of dropping fire force but I think other people will like it quite a lot. Main character is standard stupid shonen protag (naruto, luffy, etc) and he hits bad people until they become his friends (so far). The animation and sound effects are noteworthy.

I still wanna check out the dumbbell anime at some point but I'm gonna wait until my cardiologist tells me if I can exercise first (in 2+ weeks) to try and make use of the motivation.

Then theres also demon slayer ending soon which is great and the danmachi season 2

Best season in a while for me.

Re-watching some YYH. Can't remember how that started, probably a recommended video. Rewatched the Team Toguro stuff (minus the full Toguro fight, since that takes forever) and rewatched part of the Sensui arc (Gamemaster specifically; didn't recognize the image for the thumbnail since I guess that was the goblin outfit), wiki-walked some details for the rest of it, and then started up again the episode after I guess Yusuke was briefly in demon world which covered the after-stories for some of the other characters before moving onto the next arc. Figured I'd rewatch the full final arc since I think I didn't finish it in its entirely last time (although I also never finished all of that Chapter Black crap and don't care to)

Also realized I had missed the sort commands in that GX gba game all this time. D'oh! Not sure why I didn't notice that when I went to add cards to the deck, guess I was too used to the options being on the top like in other versions.

Heaven's Feel II arrived yesterday, though the missus and I won't be able to watch it until at least Saturday. The limited edition box is pretty sweet: You get the movie, a whole disc full of bonus features, the soundtrack, and a hardcover artbook. Funny thing is that the cost was about the same as it was for the first movie, which was just, y'know, the movie and nothing else. :-P

Just checked next season and damn is it stacked with sequels. My hero 4, shokugeki no souma 4, sword art online 4, psycho-pass 3, a bunch of other sequels I don't care about. Theres actually like 20 sequels next season though and look at how many are season 3+. The anime industry has come a long way lately on how they deal with sequels. It's nice to see even if most of those just would have been long running shonen in years prior.

Yeah, I tend to just pick a few things somewhat at random here and there to keep me going lol. Probably going to start Conan next. It's got a ton of eps, so as long as it keeps my interest, it'll hold me over for a while. Need to see about catching up in One Piece too. Think I'm around 150 eps behind at this point. Though, for One Piece, I've got to find a good place to stop off at. Enjoyed it a lot better when I waited for arcs to finish and then watched a whole arc, rather than just catching up to whatever the latest episode is.

Sometimes I do but I really want to watch great shows not just good ones so I usually end up dropping them after an episode or 2.

Maybe I should start some long running shonen right now. I'm pretty much just killing time all day every day lately. Not sure which one would be the least infuriating for me to watch though. I've watched roughly 100 eps of just about all of em.

Conan is not the kind of show that you marathon, and not just because there are literally over 900 episodes. It's an episodic mystery series where the main plot takes a backseat to the case of the day. As long as you understand that, you probably won't have any problems enjoying it.

I watched about 120 episodes of conan in a week or two. The formula does get pretty stale the more you watch in one go. It's nice, but it just starts to feel like the entire episode is written around one weird plot twist that obfuscates normal deduction.

Was going through my stuff and found my Sidoh figurine. I couldn't even remember his name at first, but when I was going for my final walk of the night before getting ready for bed it suddenly struck me. I had picked up one of the Death Note DVD box sets mostly for the figure (in fact, I can't remember what was on the DVD -- I think it might have been some of the Yotsuba Group episodes, which was my favorite story arc in the series).

Out of all the Shinigami, I think I liked his design the most (although we didn't get to see that many, so... perhaps it's not meaningful). Long story short, though he comes with a stand which, due to the design, he really doesn't need. I think the added room taken up by the stand is why I didn't have him on display somewhere.

In general, I guess it's a little odd that -- out of everything I could own for an anime (or manga) yet don't -- one of the few things I have is a figurine for an anime I wasn't super into. Meanwhile I loved Detective Conan and I don't have anything associated with that series (although they have a Nendoroid now. Maybe I'll get that.)

I know that the episodes aren't very long, but that's pretty impressive in a weird way. Granted, binging 120 episodes of *anything* in that short a time frame likely wears thin.

Oh, plus the manga tends to handle the episodic element better than the show. Quite a few of the show's mysteries feel stilted given the abrupt beginnings and endings.

They become a little less annoying over time; in the beginning they were kind of a handful.

And in a strange way, they somehow often wind up going up against the most dangerous and irredeemable criminals. Most culprits have a sad story to make you sympathize with them (to varying success); the kids are usually pitted against people who are straight up evil or crazy.
