I'm not familiar with the books, but going by the premise, i'll give it a try. It sounds interesting, and Amazon has started to prove they can create some quality original shows.

Hasnt it been official for a while? Im not expecting much. It has a lot more magic than ASoIaF and is way longer (though a lot can be cut). I dont recognize any of the actors except for Moiraine, and Sean Bean and Dinklage were much bigger names. And theres been talk of modernizing it and making lots of changes.

As long as the series is so much of it is descriptions that will be shown rather than told that an adaptation isn't nearly as daunting as the page count of the series might make it look.
