First on my own system was GTA: San Andreas. I had a GameCube to start the gen and didn't get a PS2 until the Slim.

First in general was X-Squad on a friend's system.

Dark Cloud and The Bouncer.

Didn't have a memory card for at least a month. Managed to beat The Bouncer without one, but Dark Cloud I could only get as far as the third town.

Needless to say by the time I got a memory card I could breeze my way to the third town.

I got three games with my ps2 at launch.

Smuggler's Run
Some firework puzzle game (terrible game, but great when stoned).
Onimusha (if it was a launch title. If not, I got it as soon as it came out).

Gotta say, the ps2 original was awesome. I had that fucker for 15 years without a single problem. It went through like 9 different moves with me and was covered by candle wax by the time it gave up the ghost. Ot was a beast of a machine.

hmm, on second thought, it may have been this rhythm game. I can't remember what it was called, but I think it may have been made by the same people that did guitar hero.

That game may have just been a demo. I honestly can't say for certain what the first game I had on the ps2 was.

edit: looking at a list of launch games, it may have actually been dead or alive 2. I remember playing that game a lot. It could have been madden 2001, as my dad loved madden

That fireworks game was fantavision. I always liked the box art but couldn't convince myself to buy it for full price.

My first PS2 game was from when I was six or so, and I don't have the system, the card, or the games anymore because reasons.

The answer I will give is Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, or Digimon World 4.

You mean besides Kessen, right? I can't be the only one who got the Kessen bundle. Besides Kessen the first game I bought for the PS2 was Dead or Alive 2.

I did t buy the PS2 until near the end of its life cycle, so I bought a bunch of games for dirt cheap along with it. I believe the first on I actually played was MGS2.

Amen. Mine is going on eighteen glorious years. I've cleaned its lens twice, probably due for another soon. Sometimes it's a little moody, but it still runs PS2 AND PS1 discs no problem.

That thing was made the way electronics should be made. Unlike for example the original Xbox 360.
