I actually played the og trilogy on wiiware and didn't get the 5th case in 1 till i finished all 3 games (it was dlc)

I think 2 wins the first case, and it definitely wins the second and fourth cases. 1-3 over 2-3 is probably enough to overcome the deficit from 2-4 to 1-4, but not the rest, so I guess I have to go with JFA.

JFA easily

1-1 = 2-1 (the only reason 1-1 is "better" is because it came first. Narrative-wise theyre about equal)

2-2 > 1-2 (this one comes down to preference for me, I like them both, but I think 2-2 is just more interesting)

2-3 >= 1-3 (both these cases suck, but at least 2-3 goes by so much faster, there's so much filler and padding in 1-3 and the cooler parts aren't good enough to make up for the crap)

2-4 > 1-4 (both are outstanding cases, but I think 2-4 has more interesting themes and cooler plot twists)

Edgeworth's introduction alone makes it worth it. He's great in 1-2 and 1-3.

so AA for me.

1-1 has the charm of being the first case. But it's super short and simple
2-1 is somehow better but amnesia sucked. I can't decide between the two
2-2 is better than 1-2 but mostly because the ending to 2-2 is so good while the ending of 1-2 sucks
1-3 is so much better than 2-3 that it's not even worth discussing
1-4 and 2-4 are both fucking amazing but 2-4 is on a different level

So I lean a little more in favor of JFA, but it's hard to decide

2-1 > 1-1 obviously.

1-2 >2-2. 2-2 is actually pretty bad, between gunpowder burn, franzy's incompetence, magatama tutorials and it just overall not being fun. it's obviously an important case in the AA lore but it's not constructed well.1-2 would be pretty good if not for the rushed ending.

1-3 > 2-3. the initial steel samurai twist in this case is the exact moment when this series goes from "this is interesting" to "holy ****" 2-3 was considered the worst case in the series until AJ came along.

2-4 > 1-4 by a hair. I'd even say that the investigation of 1-4 is overall more fun than 2-4, but 2-4 is the most dramatic and tension-filled the series ever gets.

they're way more fun than 2-1 actually is.

AA has one high tier case and JFA doesn't so it pretty much wins just from that despite 1-2 being arguably the worst case in the series.

(And TT easily blows both out of the water despite also having another candidate for worst case in the series)

Not really close for me. AA vs Trials and Tribs I have to think about, but AA vs JFA... I prefer 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3 to their JFA counterparts. 2-4 ekes out 1-4 maybe, but it's close and certainly doesn't bridge the gap.

I know I'm in the extreme minority here, but 2-1 is my favorite JFA case. There are huge logical inconsistencies, but Wellington is fun and that's enough
