If I didnt get so damn nervous sometimes while speaking to crowds. 32 years into this life and I haven't fully gotten over it. Like I'm better than before...and I actually like public speaking when Im comfortable, but being put in the spotlight all of a sudden makes my heart want to jump out of my chest.

What are some tips to get over this?

I like briefing and public speaking.

I always look at it like this. Most of the time, nobody cares what you have to say. In school, be quite and listen, do not talk back. Adults do not take kids serious, better seen than heard.

Public speaking is like one of the only times as a regular joe people are there for you and there to listen. They might even be really interested in what you have to say or you as a person. So, it is a time to shine.

All eyes are on you, so give them something to see. Plus, lots of people have this fear, so the bar is low, and just keeping your cool can impress!

I am 35. I do a fair amount of briefings at work. I also did alot of them in graf school. I took theater and things in school too. I got to do a stage kiss my senior year of high school .

Might sound cliche but fake it until you make it. Briefing is like an act or a persona. You can be jelly inside but still rock a speech or presentation. I get stressed or worried before a lot, but the goal is to compartmentalize that feeling.

Describe the situations. What sort of circumstances are you being put under the spotlight and how many people are listening?
