He lathers the sarcasm and venom over what is surprisingly good journalism for the same reason Mike Stoklasa did his movie reviews as Mr. Plinkett - because listening to someone talk about sterile facts in a clinical tone is dull as fuck, and most people watching videos on YouTube would get bored and nope out pretty quickly. He's not that different from Yahtzee (though Yahtzee's mainly a reviewer), which is part of why I gravitated to Jim in the first place when they were both on the Escapist. (iirc, the 2-part Bernie Madoff special was on tv then available for a super-limited time on Hulu or something, which I regret not getting to that second half because of the time sensitivity.) The mix of animation and some of the costumes really made it wonky, although seeing Shaggy playing Sebastian was certainly a draw. Should still be fun, IMO, but that might be because I have never been super hardcore about catching 'em all. For me, it's more, "catch what's around, just have fun". Got Disney + here, too. It's kinda nice to not have to worry about the stupid Disney Vault any more. Hell, one whole category on the service is called "From the Vault". Me being me, though, I'm just glad they've got Tron in there. It's a large part of why I didn't even bother buying a 360 until the generation was already six years old. For the first few years, it didn't have much I cared about beyond Halo. I'd agree the last couple years probably weren't as strong, but the last couple years of any generation tend to be bad, because by that point developers have shifted most of their energy towards working on the next-gen games. Regardless, the 360 was easily the best console of last generation in my opinion, without any meaningful competition or hesitation on my part. And at the time, I'd argue my fondness for the 360 probably trumped my fondness for any previous console generation.
