I mean... did you really put up posters of girls in bikinis in your room? Just curious if it's as common as movies and tv portray it to be.

Why? For not seeing the appeal of having decorations of people I dont know or cars i would never own? Nature is far more appealing.

Never had anything on my walls. No pictures, no drawings, no paintings or posters. I have only had one poster in my life and that's put up, more for sentimental reasons than monetary (autographed poster from Joe Montana).

I had movie posters on my walls.

I literally wallpapered my room with images from magazines, mostly stuff about music and weed and some girls here and there. The majority of it came from Hit Parader and High Times magazines.

No, just video game ones that came free with Nintendo magazines, plus a Homer Simpson one (if somethings hard to do that it isn't worth doing). My older brother had a Baby Spice poster on this wall when he was a teenager, don't think it was halfnaked though.

My Uncle's garage was totally like the movies. Girls with power tools and bent over cars. It was awesome.

Back in the 80s, my uncle was the chief of the fire department in a small town (about 500 people). The guy he replaced had previously decorated the station and his office with the playboy centerfolds. No, that's not why he was replaced.

People didn't seem to care back then apparently. When kids visited, they would cover them up.

Yes, especially as I got older. Then as I dated more seriously, they came down out of respect.
I've had various other posters though, and old reports and stuff on my walls.
I have a joke poster I'd love to put up, but my girlfriend doesn't like it, along with most people. It's a lady holding an apple pie over a turd with the title: Dip it in shit

I used to have a couple posters of "anime tiddies" on my wall as a teen and also a map of Wind Waker's great sea, a Full Metal Alchemist poster and a Saint Seiya dude. The only reason I did though was I felt like it was expected of me to do it to "have a personality" or something, like everyone else.

I did. Also had one ot two of shirtless guys too. Also had a couple of anime related posters fullmetal alchemists and gravitation. Cant recall if I had any video game posters. I had a sword hanging up. And some marilyn manson stuff.

Now as an adult I have a link poster someone gave me for Christmas this weird boxy wall decoration of a batman amd robin comic book cover. A heath ledger joker poster. A drawing of link i did back when I was a teen a drawing of link i got from a step sister as a christmas present (I just think its funny its him with just his nose over a table top staring at a pot and it says "I smell pottery") a autographed poster of a band that will likely never make it big but I liked them when I saw em in concert. And that about covers it.

I knew people who did. They were a few years older and not video game nerds. Usually older brothers of friends.

Nah, I had a bunch of posters, but they were mostly bands I liked. I think I had a Bush poster, one or two Smashing Pumpkins posters, an Offsping poster, a Greenday poster, maybe more. I also had a Ren & Stimpy poster. The only video game poster I had was the one that came with Ultimate Doom.

Doesn't seem like a lot, but I had a small room and I liked making sure all my posters were fully visible.

Edit: Now that I think about it, they are all still hanging up in my room today, as my dad hasn't done anything with my room since I moved out some 15 years ago.

I would imagine it is a lot less common now that the internet is a thing. Most of my posters were cars but I generally had a couple swimsuit calendars up as I got older as well.

As a teen I mostly just had the posters that came with nintendo power on my wall.

Along with some dinosaur jr and jimmy eat world posters, and an old bones brigade poster.

The $1 movie theater had official movie posters for sale for $1-$2 so I'd grab those and check for new ones every now and then.

Plus had some video game posters.

(not really friends. a couple of brothers whom I was forced to visit; they were both basically deranged psychopaths. apparently they beat up their mother pretty regularly, among other things.)
