Axs is on a few hour tape delay for the Saturday shows! Ospreay and tana is one of my top 5 or so matches of the tournament so good place to jump in

I mean when youre very strongly into something, booking becomes important. If it wasnt, people wouldnt have problems with WWE, because their problem isnt lack of good wrestling, its booking.

Granted I have no idea what you guys are talking about to actually agree or disagree on said booking itself

That talent is there, and have proved more than enough times that when they actually get time and the booking doesn't get in the way, they can have some pretty damn great matches.

Unless you're counting the ill consistency of good wrestling because of the booking/etc., then yeah, I don't disagree.

When I say they don't lack "good wrestling," I mean that when things aren't over/underbooked, the actual wrestling product can be really damn good.

ExTha really has trouble with the concept that NJPW makes more money with Naito as the IC champ than they would with him as the IWGP champ.

Andrade/Rey had a pretty great one, too. Men's MitB and EC matches were good. Like said, there have been several good tag and cruiserweight matches.

I think this is mainly coming down to us not fully agreeing on the terms. I'm saying WWE can have great wrestling when the booking doesn't get in the way, whether from overbooking or underbooking.

I'm differentiating between the two, you're combining the two. Yes, WWE hasn't been super great lately, and that equates to "they don't have good wrestling right now." I'm just saying the booking is causing that directly, and the lack of good wrestling right now is a symptom, not its own problem.

We're not actually disagreeing, I don't think.

I was very into it the whole way through and they had me with some of the false finishes. The actual finish dragged it down a little though I suppose.

So yeah it's the booking and the matches. In fact I would say the booking this year hasn't really been very bad. We're kinda just suffering the consequences of years of bad booking before.

I mean you can have a lot of 3-4* WWE matches but you won't see truly great stuff very often because the formula, presentation, and announcing holds it back. It's all very sterilized and standardized.

yeah, this is exactly it. i'm not sure the booking really has much to do with the match quality, but the sterile product and the match presentation where in ring action is secondary (at best) is what limits it

I think Moxley is all the evidence needed to show they waste their talent. Dude went from having such a mediocre run match-wise in WWE to putting on multiple blow away matches the second he leaves there.

Well I'll say bad booking will hurt my enjoyment of a match, but I just don't really think WWE's booking has been egregious this year. Generally I'd say it's been adequate.

Like if I have my fantasy booking hat on I'm not changing a lot unless I can just change what matches are made outright which I guess you could call poor booking in a sense-- like Becky/Seth vs Corbin/Like a Lady should not exist as a submain but eh. The results and the finishes have really been mostly okay this year I feel considering the matches made.
