Corrik stop being such a disingenuous moron

LITERALLY NOBODY is saying that Trump is actually trying to successfully get Omar deported. WE KNOW it's 'rhetoric'. It's fucking vile rhetoric.

Like how when I call you a dumb ass motherfucker I'm not claiming you are a donkey that likes to actually fuck his mother. Oddly enough you're only capable at understanding the "real meanings" of criticisms when it comes to defending the garbage that comes out of Trump's mouth but when it comes to the criticism your capability to derive meanings from words goes out the fucking window.

Stop twisting your brain into mush to defend shit that even Trump had to back away from, have some god damn respect for yourself because good fucking lord none of us have a single shred of it for you if you're going to keep being this willfully obtuse for your entire miserable life.

It is okay for us to disagree on things. I think you are twisting it to make it some racist comment. You think I am twisting it to make it a viable comment and condoning racism.

We just disagree. I feel Trump's tweet about going back was just that he thinks she is being anti-american and that if she dislikes America so much that she should go back to the country her family came to here from and see what it is like there.

You feel otherwise.

*shrug* It was not too long ago that the house was leading a charge to condemn Omar's comments I believe, in a Democrat held House. The situation is kind of weird. Though, I guess that is Mandela's point. You are forced to defend at least two idiots (at least out of the 4) to attack Trump on this angle, after democrats were attacking them not long ago themselves.

I mean you can hate Trump's comment and feel its racist without liking or defending Omar or AOC (especially AOC since her country to go back to would be Puerto Rico which is still the US).

Fun fact: Before Trump's comments everyone here was criticizing the Dems attacks against Omar and other progressives. Only exception maybe LotM who is more of a centrist but I'm not even sure he said much. The rest of us very much take issue with Dem leadership, we don't just tow the party line and throw ourselves under their wheels, nor does LotM simply go along with progressives.

Corrik can stop projecting his hack commentary that twists by the winds of Trump's breath onto others because the only political theory he understands is following the party line.

You are not the House. As I referred to. Democrats were attacking them. Just because some in this topic possibly were not, it does not make the comment any less correct.

Projecting what? You are just trying to twist something to try and assert a narrative here. And over what? You are coming off as just trying to argue any point at all no matter what it is.

Also, my views differ from the party line kind of significantly for you to be arguing I only follow the party line.

You can't argue someone dictates their views around a single characteristic then pick and choose when to use the argument or not. You either think they do or you don't.

I think people have forgotten what actual racism is.

Abraham Lincoln who was the President who freed the slaves was undoubtedly more racist than Donald Trump. (Not that it means much because of the times and because we have not actually seen anything that points to racism by Donald Trump in reality). But, I doubt people would sit here and argue Abraham Lincoln as a racist, despite the documented fact from his own letters that he felt Black people as a whole were inferior human beings.

No, most people acknowledge he was a racist. They just think his greater feats outweigh his inherent racism.

And this speaks to exactly my point.

You have an actual racist that you ignore his racism because "his great feats outweigh his racism" (aka he did something I agree with), and you have someone who doesn't appear to be racist with his actions and views but he is blasted repeatedly by you all because you do not agree with his views and actions (and every comment possible is twisted to make it seem like it has to be a racist one).

Like, if you seriously have to take comments certain ways and twist them to say they are racist. They probably aren't.

If Trump said for a German man whose parents immigrated here 50 years ago to go back to your own country if they say burned a flag or were trying to undermine his policy / attacking him non-stop. No one would bat an eye and call it racist.

It is pretty much super easy to determine racism by just swapping races and seeing if it would be racist in turn. If it doesn't pass that test, it very likely isn't racist.

And, you shouldn't hold him to the same standard. Yet, you do when it is convenient?

I said slave owners and America as a whole shouldn't be judged as terrible people because they were racist because it was indoctrinated their entire lives and most didn't even know they were doing something that was wrong. And, I was counter argued they were terrible people because they were racist.

Yinz decided to hold to the standard of today when judging them yet...

I mean, this is going to get circular, but basically, you are picking and choosing when to use this label and when to argue against this issue.

If you disagree, then so be it. We won't see eye to eye on it.

I feel like this is a very poor litmus test. Context matters.

A white man calling a black man boy has a completely different context than a white man calling another white man boy, and yet the former would pass your test as probably not racist.

A black man calling another black man the n-word has a hugely different context than a white man calling a black man the n-word, and yet the latter would pass your test as probably not racist.

I am referring to when races are in the sentence. And, I said likely as well.

Like if you say "white people shouldn't be allowed to vote", which is almost a direct quote from another website.

This is clearly racist. Though these same people will argue that you cannot be racist against White people (majority) which is laughable and a topic for another day.

If you were unsure this was racist, would it be racist if it was "Black people shouldn't be allowed to vote". Yes. If swapped to any specific race it is racist.

Very easy.

I am not passive-aggressive at all. Though you have a somewhat valid argument. You do eat your own a lot when in similar situations. However, after awhile you seem to let it be water under the bridge and lose steam against Democrats or are willing to forgive them. Trump is literally complained about almost no matter what he does all day. Which to be fair, Obama was also by conservatives. Are you that much different than the conservatives in that regard?

Was Hillary a racist? Was she anti-LGBT?

I saw someone when I referenced Hillary was anti gay marriage / for DOMA previously that they don't hold it against their because everyone was against it then and it was political suicide not to be. She wasn't woke yet (if she ever actually was).

How is this not different than discussion with TheRock above about people being terrible people generations prior when things were different also?

I just do not think your arguments remain consistent. And, when called out on that inconsistency it is just "STRAWMAN" deflections.

Anti-Hillary Dems. 60 some million voted for Hillary, however. I think it is safe to say that the Dems didn't think Hillary was a homophobe or a racist enough to not support her. Hell, not even enough to not give her the nomination of your party.

The fact is, many handwaved Clinton's comments regarding LGBT matters as a matter of the time. Which I think is FAIR. But, I apply that consistency across the board. I think some of you pick and choose at times.

If Trump said "go back to where you came from" to a congressman who emigrated from Germany, then yes it would be racist.

I rather doubt this would be the reaction in that scenario, but if it would be for you, then kudos for remaining consistent in your beliefs.

...are you kidding, Corrik?

A ton of anti-Hillary Dems constantly complained about Hillary being homophobic because she signed on with gay marriage so late. And they constantly bring up the whole super-predator thing as well.

I will say that liberals frequently conflate race, religion, and culture. These are 3 distinct and different things, not one and the same thing. This is probably because liberals refuse to acknowledge religious choice and therefore see religion as nothing more than a byproduct of one's cultural heritage. And they also equate that with race, again refusing to acknowledge differences in individual experiences and individual choice.
