Btw I recommend twinword finder. Chrome extension for doing ctrl + f on many unique strings at once. Color codes each one and you can tab through all occurrences. That shit was very useful.

I was town and being serious when I said skipping posts is completely fine.

Being in the now and going over the important parts of the game (just before lynches, reactions to role reveals, etc) is more important than reading literally everything and burning yourself out.

I was town and being serious when I said skipping posts is completely fine.

Being in the now and going over the important parts of the game (just before lynches, reactions to role reveals, etc) is more important than reading literally everything and burning yourself out.

Problem with skipping posts is you lose flow and context. It's hard to judge the room when you don't know everything relevant. Staying focused enough to do it is a chore, but context is always important.

Echoing the motion that 24 topic games do nothing to help town in the slightest. They certainly don't need six fucking topics (or whatever it was) on Day 1. If I'd have been town I'd have been bristling at the suggestion that I needed to keep pace with that level of posting. That's just posting for posting's sake. You don't need verbal diarrhoea (or the mafia equivalent of it at least) to win as town.

If one flips mafia neighbor, I think I would be disinclined to assume the other is mafia neighbor so it would be a meta screw if anything.

Like in your scenario, once one of them flips "not neighbor" you just immediately lynch the other.

In hindsight, I think me having 0 fear of being lynched the last day (which is an odd thing to say in any case, this alone should have put me more on alert) had quite a negative impact on how I played.

I made a ton of other mistakes, too but that's something for me to note down for future situations.

My initial reads were top notch day 2 and I just lost my sanity after that

I felt the lack of note taking was odd for a forum game that lacked easy search functions

TLDR of Luis Spew:

Town: Camarija, Lea3Lea, DoomTheGyarados, Turbopuns, Lopen

Probably Town: Benjamin, Sultan, Scare, Hbthebattle

I mean that was 100% correct, which on pure guesswork happens about 10% of the time, but this was based on in depth notes that just got overlooked

I got played a bit by setup meta, and I mostly played myself with my hostile behavior

If I had continued living, I would have been otherwise occupied with the 150+ player game running at the same and I don't think it would have ended well

I think my lynch made sense given the information we had at our disposal at the time within the parameters of setup information

I just wish we would have stuck to never lynching the spew cleared players

I think Ulti deserves exceptional praise for carrying the Mafia team to victory here

And of course, great setup Han!

I think there are more clever ways to design a game than meta screws, but I do enjoy clever surprises :)

I mean it isn't a bad idea! If you do something like this, you'd want to balance accordingly because:

1) the meta screw is pretty strong
2) you cook in fake claims for two scum right off the bat, which is also quite strong

Even though these aren't "power" roles for scum in the traditional sense they would likely be very strong and would need to be countered in some way.
