I haven't been following how people feel about the recent DLC characters though so I don't know if maybe GT Goku broke the game for people too. Both being another Goku and being so small he probably has a small hitbox.

the game was new last year and had insane casual appeal because it was Dragon Ball. part of the reason why Ultimate got such a huge boost this year and Street Fighter V was massive in its first year. The numbers at EVO do not necessarily reflect the entire competitive scene. There are plenty of casual players who go to EVO because they see it as THE tournament and are likely to never go to a tournament again.

i also don't think the game is that spectator friendly either. games can get pretty long for several reasons like all the blockstrings, assist cooldowns, sparking, etc. and i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the casual appeal dropped off partly for that reason.

Do it, it's really good

Best overall Soul Calibur game since SCII, and best game casually in Soul Calibur since SCIII. I think it's either the best or 2nd best gameplay-wise in the series.

I'm really happy to see the SamSho turn out. I'm not that optimistic about its long term popularity, but I didn't think it had a chance of finishing ahead of MK11, so hopefully I continue to be wrong.

Yeah I used to like watching Fighterz but seeing Bardock's level 3 super 5 times a match gets old pretty quick. Rushdown being the only viable strategy gets a little stale too honestly.

I'm curious how SamSho looks after Evo. Because I get the feeling a lot of people are excited to play a game that no one has labbed since it came out like a month ago. I think BBTag had the same thing going on last year.
