There was initial confusion that Halle Bailey was Halle Berry as the actress took to twitter to say she will not be playing Ariel but is congratulatory of the new take on the Little mermaid. Jordin Sparks also congratulated the actress as well as Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland... This may be halle's biggest role but she has been known for her other work as well since starring in Beyonce's "Pretty Hurts" in 2013 and her sister, Chloe star in the hit TV Series, Grown-ish on Freeform Rob Marshall, who's directing the movie is praising the star after an extensive search and said she possesses the rare combination of spirit, heart and youth and innocent plus a gorgeous singing voice.
