Tom Bombadil 07/02/19 9:35:14 AM #1:	Welcome to B8EST IDEA MAFIA tl;dr -I'm testing a (silly) setup idea I stole from another site and tweaked -Pretend we're going to play a game (we aren't) and all this is happening by PM so you don't know what's going on with other folks -Sign up -I'll send you three alignments, three active roles, and three modifiers. -Narrow that down to one from one category, two from another, and all three from the last. -I'll randomize out the remaining extra options and that's your role for the imaginary game -Sign up again if you want? An example (and also my first entry) -Player!Tom signs up. -Host!Tom randomizes: Survivor Town Town 1-shot Unlynchable Nilla Nilla GodfatherScan as town Queen of the NightIf dying at night, next night is skipped Lover -Player!Tom narrows that down to Survivor, Town, Town Unlynchable, Nilla Godfather -Host!Tom randomizes the final role: TOWN Godfather Nilla (essentially making me a regular ol' Nilla, but "Godfather" can still show up in some scans) More mechanical details -I can of course answer questions! -I have a whole spreadsheet of possible roles and stuff to randomize; you can see it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17XmUOZoQuPs_kPvzVJu9Vu73kkE5leLheboWptXPaDs/edit#gid=214608479 -It is entirely possible that you will be a Mafia, or Werewolf, or Cult, or Mason, or Lover by yourself. -I THINK I avoided anything that could make for gamebreaking or confusing combinations. Obviously some of these will be better to use than others, and balance isn't guaranteed. That's why I'm doing this- to see if it would result in even a remotely appropriate setup. -Mafia and Werewolf are the same thing, just two different families. -There's some awkwardness in separating out all the roles into components like I did. Mafia and Werewolves both have a factional night kill, and Cult has a factional 1-shot Recruit. -I don't expect to actually run this gimmick ever, given our hosting sensibilities. (although it'd make a fun AIM game- did Discord Mafia ever become a thing?) -If Jack or Schizo calls a role, it loses its X-shot limitation. -There would be limitations in place to ensure the game is within certain limits of silliness. For example, town would need to be, like, 50-80% of the playerlist, or I'd reroll. But a good bit of leeway would be in place, meaning that we can (and probably will) get setups that would not fly if they were designed from the ground up. If I was gonna make a bot of this I think I would take out the alignment-picking part to reduce the insanity.
