Orlando Jordan vs Rob Terry is a legendary feud and you can't go wrong with Disco.

Hidden gem is Brother Devon is the heavyweight champion.

There was honestly no other option for champ, the pickings were slim from the undrafted talent.

My second-best option (since Gunner and Crimson were both taken for my final) was possibly Junior Fatu.

I think the overall criteria involved needing either an extended TV run or a PPV appearance.

There were a lot of small number of appearances people cut for the same reasons that you're arguing Liger should have been.

Kinda surprised at the tepid reaction to my card, though I had a good mix of zany TNA chaos and stuff that legitimately looks good but in retrospect I don't know if I have anything on there that's a real blow-away. Maybe I had more vanity picks than I realized.

Definitely didn't expect one of the criticisms to be that I wasted Bobby Roode. I keep forgetting he has fans.

Bobby Roode had a pretty good TNA run. Team Canada was the low point. His singles run was good stuff and Beer Money (which you also could have done to an improvement in that slot, though then you can't have your MERICA gimmick match and what value does Chris Harris have otherwise) was significantly better than AMW and Team Canada too

But yeah ultimately I think if you shuffled your card around a bit you arguably had the best roster to build with. I'm confused how that draft went cause it seems like you had relatively low value on a lot of the guys you had who I think are some of the better options for building TNA cards. Though I'm probably thinking with my TNA hat more than some of you so like RVD and Bobby Roode at their TNA peaks are intuitively guys who make sense pushed in high card slots rather than throwaway openers. Like when Scarlet has Okato I'm certainly not thinking Okada. Granted the guy did get a lot better as time went on so maybe that's the "right" way to think about it. *shrug

Course when I'm one of the only people who comments you're gonna get some weird perceptions too. I doubt Icon's card is nearly as cool to most people for instance.

Yeah I think the central disagreement here is that you just think guys like Roode and TNA-era RVD are a lot better than I do.

Like yeah, I could've booked Styles vs Roode as the heavyweight title match but then I would've had to go and take a shower. And the MERICA gimmick match wasn't even meant to be that - it only occurred to me after I booked it that both teams did in fact have names with America in it - I just like AMW better than I ever liked Beer Money.

I thought the draft order had been posted here but I guess that was just in the Discord, maybe things will make more sense when you see the actual progression. Sheet 2.

I like how Steiner dicked over Scarlet twice potentially even forgetting the bucks stuff. RIP MCMG (not sure if scarlet even wanted that though given ME Chris Sabin)

I mean I wasn't necessarily drafting Chris Harris so much as making sure I filled out AMW -it's not like I think Harris has any value by himself. Had I been smart I would've left that for later but as it turns out I apparently value that team way more than everyone else. That just surprised me.

On a redraft I definitely would've taken Storm and Wolfe 2 and 3 instead of Storm and Harris because even if someone did just draft Harris to mess with me I could've flexed to Beer Money and been fine. That's definitely the biggest mistake I made and I honestly couldn't tell you why it didn't occur to me in the moment that I could wait a while for Harris. I think I was annoyed about Sabin and Daniels going #5 and #6 overall.

yeah I don't think any of us rate Roode all that highly. I eventually came around to him as a character but he was never someone I cared to watch in the ring.

I think even if you like James Storm a lot you could slot him as a single or with Beer Money or with AMW and have something solid regardless so yeah I probably wouldn't prioritize securing AMW, though if you're a much bigger fan of James Storm in that incarnation than his others, yeah it makes sense. (As you said yourself when I properly scrolled down damn mobile browsing)

In my case it was simply a matter of having a vision of what I wanted my card to look like.

At one point I had Beer Money slotted where EC3/Spud are but Iceman beat me to Storm and honestly I liked EC3 and Spud more for that match.

Where I fucked up is not grabbing Roode for KotM but in my defense there was a run on X Division talent so I grabbed Dutt and Williams and then realized that there wasn't a ton of marqee womens talent and that's how I got where I got.

my biggest worry about this draft was not getting Joe, and when Iceman had the first pick I was sure he was going to take him. looking at how the draft shook out, there's not really many changes I'd make to my picks considering where everyone went. I wanted Wolfe but so did everyone and I wouldn't have picked him higher than 5th. I wanted to slot in Amazing Red as my shitty Will Ospreay in my Archer/Ospreay knock-off, but Jack Evans is just as acceptable and reckless.

Honestly, I think the cause was that when we first started getting info together for the draft, I did a quick and dirty first version of my Big Board in like 15 minutes and I had AMW listed together for the sake of convenience even though in my head I was already thinking about how Storm was valuable for his flexibility of being included with two of TNA's biggest teams. And then I just never went back and changed it.

And speaking of Red, I really wanted to get both him and Evans so that I could put them in an Ultimate X match. They're both tailor made for it and yet never actually wrestled in one. But they both got snatched up two or three rounds earlier than I'd projected them to.

Also I should mention the funniest moment of the draft was me taking Dustin Rhodes because I had the terrible/amazing idea of pairing him up with the Naturals to do the Lethal Lockdown with Team Canada. And then Steiner swerved me by immediately grabbing Stevens after his earlier tirade about the team and that's when I shifted grabbed Dreamer to turn it into a true TNA nostalgia match instead. I would've definitely preferred to do something better with Raven and RVD, as you can probably tell by how early I grabbed them.

Steiner picked Red right after I picked Archer. I would've taken Evans a round earlier but I thought there was a slight chance you might've had an eye on L.A Park with your back-to-back picks.
