Does Tevin still have more viewers than Phil? lol

Unless there are suspicious circumstances in which Phil's viewer count suddenly doubles for some reason (which has happened), Tevin will always have more viewers. On a boring game where Phil is barely talking and only 300 people are watching him, Tevin can usually still pull close to 1000 viewers.

Oh god, tonight's stream is solid fucking gold.

Phil equates Tevin to a drug dealer/bank robber for restreaming him, he is also armchair lawywring hard. He has no fucking concept of licensing/copyright. Developers realize that the streams on Twitch are a fucking goldmine to them, because it is all organic, free, advertizing. Yet streaming itself is actually illegal under copyright law. And as much Phil believes he is making it a transformative work (hint, he is not), not being sued by the dev doesn't mean it isn't. Just no dev is going to sue, because it gets them more money this way.

Someone also asked if Phil has any opinions of his own, to which Phil replied: "I have no opinions of my own".

The first teaser trailer to the tax saga also was dropped. Phil admitted that he doesn't make enough to set aside money for taxes next year. Our hero, Phil "business degree" Burnell, doesn't seem to ever fucking understand that taxes aren't like bills. It's money you don't actually own since you are required by law to pay them. You HAVE to set aside money from your income when you are self employed, that's the way it goes. If you have money left after that, good for you, but not spending money on taxes is not the same as money in your pocket, even though Phil seems to believe so.

He also got extremely upset over people saying his chair is smelly.

Phil also claims that Youtube doesn't properly enforces copyright, but also says that he gets hit by copyright strikes. I swear, this moron has no filter when opens his mouth, let alone think for just 2 seconds before he starts his verbal diarrhea.

Phil: I can barely pay my electric bill.
Also Phil: spensing 40+ dollars at an Indian restaurant.

Phil also seems convinced that the people watching Tevin are stolen viewers from him, and that every dollar Tevin makes actually belongs to him. It's hilarious as fuck that he gets so upset over this.

To an extend, if you go to the farms, some people have done an excellent job at tallying how much he makes every month. But even if Phil never releases numbers himself, his behaviour is extremely telling.

On the one hand he says that his Twitch payment last tuesday was barely enough to cover bills, yet he also boasted that he and Kat went out to eat at some Indian restaurant, spending well over 40 dollars.

Again a huge disconnect between what Phil says, and what he does.

In the end, both of them only care about getting money, and the Twitch thot might at least put some effort into her content.

DSP: "Give money to me instead of a girl who will never sleep with you. I provide you a service."

WTF?

As much as Phil wants to believe his "legacy" means something, he hasn't contributed to society in the last decade, and his legacy will be forgotten in less than a week once he is gone. No one will remember him.

And to extrapolate from that. The only people who will show up at Phil's funeral, will be at best Kat if she sticks around that long. Apart from his parents, Phil has pretty much burned every bridge with every person that had some connection with him (family members, friends, colleagues from his previous jobs, etc). No one will mourn/miss him. That's really fucking sad, but that is his legacy.

He doesn't seem to realize what his behaviour is breeding, he keep whining about people not talking, sorry, "interacting" with him, but every time someone tries to actually start a conversation, they get shot down and usually get an insult or two flung at them (the popular one being "idiot"). He is unable to entertain his viewers, unable to carry a conversation, and I honestly believe that his unable to maintain a healthy relationship, as evident by all other relationships he has had or has, because lets be honest here, he sees his parents (mainly his mom I suppose) as a well he can tap in time of need, and exploit them on stream for pity bucks.

Ironically, Phil is right about one thing: he is purely crowdfunded at this point. He relies on the money of others to keep his head afloat. And while I can empathize that might give some woes, I feel no pity, because he is not only responsible for this situation himself, he is doing nothing to improve it.

To perfectly summarize Phil (not my quote): "I have never seen anyone work this hard, to be this lazy."

Here is get DSP's point. You can't just upload an entire episode of Stranger Things and commentate over it, which is why Reactors only get 10mins per episode to show. What the Detractors are doing, doing edits to his videos and stuff, that's all legal. What Tevin does isn't, imo

Phil is dead fucking wrong though. You pay for a license to use the software, to play it in the case of games. You DON'T pay for broadcasting rights, which is what you do with Twitch: you rebroadcast the game. This is something that falls under licensing/copyright and don't ask me the specifics, but that is how it should be approached.

Now, and dev under the sun could sue and streamer under the sun for rebroadcasting their games, because it is completely illegal, because none of these people paid fees or have contracts that give them these broadcasting rights.

However!

They are making way more money by the free advertising that happens organically by having people stream these games. If someone averages 1.000 viewers and manages to get a 5% conversion rate, that is 50 people who bought the game, more if it is a popular streamer who has way more viewers. They don't have to spend money on advertising, to get more people to buy the game. It is literally a win-win for the dev, and is usually approached by giving big names early access, to generate free buzz. It's kind of clever really.

But under no circumstance is it legal, people just realize that it is free marketing, and it earns them way more than it would cost to fight it.

Phil just likes to believe he knows all this shit, while googling for 2 minutes proves him (in almost ANY case, wrong).

Complaining that people won't interact with him is such a Phil thing to do. Not only do his viewers have to pay to keep him going, but they also have keep him entertained so that he doesn't fall asleep on camera, all the while listening to him complain about low contributions. I know none of this is new information, but sometimes I'm kind of awed by just how terrible he is at streaming. I mean, he was awful a couple years ago, but it's almost unbelievable how much worse he's gotten since then.

So I guess he's pretty much done with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. When he's struggling so much with finances, it really makes sense to get full priced games that only last 2 or 3 streams. I know he loves to chase those day one views, but maybe it would be a better idea to wait for reviews to come out, and in this case he could've passed on a game that was apparently somewhat short on content.

I think it's fucking hilarious that he is already done with MUA3, since he was hyping that game up the past few weeks/months. But he is so fucking bad in coop games. You have power up attacks that are executed together, but you never see them happen, and he centers the stream on him, never is there room for others to shine.

If it is not about him, it's not worth wasting time on. Speaking of which, his Twitch emotes are a prime fucking example of that. Most, if not all, of his emotes are "DSP memes" or have his face (cartoonish, but still) in it. Meaning they are completely fucking useless outside of Phil's stream, and if you dare use them in other streams, you are just setting yourself up to be ridiculed.

I also love that AGAIN, the Wolverine toy story was told, again it was told differently. He was claiming that he wanted to have the toy as a collector's item. Bear in mind this was in the early '90s, so Phil was 10, maybe 11 tops. And children are known for their long term planning right? Come to think of it, he still hasn't mastered that. It's like Phil's brain never matured beyond his teen years: everything is about him, he has no foresight or planning skills, only lives in the now.

I saw that latest retelling of the Wolverine toy story and I was thinking the same thing, that little kids generally don't want action figures because of their value as collector's items. I collected Ninja Turtles toys when I was a kid, and those things were for playing with, not for sitting on a shelf.

I also liked when he pointed out that he couldn't care less about the whole thing now and he only told the story as a lesson for parents. Because when something doesn't matter to you, you keep talking about it 25 years after it happened. And who better to give parenting advice than childless, I'd-slap-that-eleven-year-old-girl Phil?

The retelling highlights something I hadn't mentioned before, but I believe is kind of telling how Phil was raised. He literally says that if your kid wants something, buy it in advance. Which means that he assumes he gets something because he asks for it. Given his "need now, spend now" behaviour coupled with the fact that he is an only child, he always got what he wanted, and likely threw a tantrum anytime he was met with resistance.

He believes he is "helping" by telling parents to buy whatever their kids want. Any parent (including myself) doesn't buy whatever their children want, because that is part of life. You can't always get what you want, not in the least because people aren't made of money, but it's part of growing up.

I doubt Phil got told "No" when he was a kid often. The fact that he got his first job due to nepotism kind of reinforces my beliefs. On top of that, he has created a bubble which he now inhibits, so if someone dares stand up and say "No", they are banished. He does this in every regard, online and offline. He has burned every bridge regarding every relationship he had, and even the people who would honestly be considered his friends, have been thrown under the bus repeatedly, this was after not paying them too. And I doubt he sees his parents as anything than a well he can tap into when he needs, they didn't say no then, they won't say no now.

But no matter what, Phil believing he is some kind of authority when it comes to parenting, is absolutely fucking hilarious. It is only second to his perceived understanding of copyright law, because that always gets us the juiciest bits.

That's the beauty with narcissists, because they believe the know everything about anything, and all you have to do is let them ramble on. It doesn't take long before they start spouting utter bullshit. And you don't have to get your hands dirty, just sit back and enjoy the show.

He also had to mention that detractors try to use this story to make him look like an entitled brat. Detractors didn't have to do anything: the original unedited version of this makes him look terrible. The two lines that stick out to me are, "I told you to buy the figure. Why don't you listen to MEEEE?" and, "They were just fuckin' stupid." Listen to the emotion in his voice and the amount of detail he goes into. This is not a guy relating a funny little story about not getting a toy he wanted as a kid. This is a man who has held a grudge since his preteens over a minor event that anyone else would've forgotten about long ago.

I think it's also worth noting that all of Phil's stories attempt to make him look like the hero, so if the original version of this story makes him look like a spoiled, entitled brat, odds are that what really happened was probably much worse.

Last night's stream was kind of despicable. For the longest time the top donators in all categories were 5 dollars and 100 bits. Phil was stalling the whole fucking time (Minecraft "chill" stream) to try and get people to donate, low key mocking the people who actually had donated for their low amounts. He even went 30 minutes "overtime" to get pity money, and it actually fucking worked, ending with 1000 bits.

It is still the equivalent of 10 bucks, but still. Overall it was a bad stream since contributions were low (in case you hadn't guessed). Phil also recently admitted he couldn't swim, claiming that he could watch someone do it and pick it up, since humans float anyway!

But that was nothing compared to Phil's response when someone asked if he ever witnessed an earthquake. Phil shouted "NO". But no only that, apparently in Seattle there was an earthquake recently, but Phil totally didn't realize it because, and I quote": "He was wearing his headphones".

That's about as stupid as saying you couldn't taste the flavours in your meal because you were wearing blindfolds.

Sure, some of those things were pointless, but he seemed like he was at least trying to grow his brand and show some ambition. Now, he plays only as much as he has to, with chat doing everything short of taking the controller. His channel growth is stagnant; his views and subs have been around the same level since forever. And every stream is him sitting there, bored and cranky, while he complains about low donations and the lack of interaction. There is no passion or innovation or creativity--every single aspect of his content is about making money.

2019 DSP makes 2017 DSP look like a fun and exciting streamer by comparison. I can't imagine how much worse this guy's going to get.

He has ditched anything that requires any amount of effort. KOgaming actually had a really good start, the first video pulled in respectable numbers, showing that doing the work yields results. Of course, our boy Phil can't do that all the time, because, well, he is always ALWAYS short on time. He barely has time to shower, let alone edit a video.

All joking aside, Phil could be actually decently successful, as we've discussed several times before, so I wont bother you all to much with it. But ironically, if Phil put as much effort in his work as he puts in effort dodging it, he'd pull in much better numbers and, as a result, money.

I know he's used the excuse that DSP Tries It doesn't make any money, but not every part of a business is about directly bringing in money. To me, some of those extras that don't immediately produce income can be used to attract new viewers and attempt to grow his channel. A funny or interesting video might draw people to his streams, where they can then give him money (I mean, if they weren't immediately turned off by his personality or banned for asking a question). Instead, everything is about the live streams. Show up, listen to him beg and complain, endure his insults, and pay him so he can keep doing it.

I really wanna ask "Have you ever considered paying the guys who make recap vids since they send so many viewers your way?" But I'm afraid it'll get deleted before he sees it.

I would guess that most of his new viewers decided to check him out after watching detractor videos. Too bad for him that he can't retain any of them.

Viewer retention never was Phil's strong suit. He's been raided several times now, but his average viewercount has stay the same, and even dwindled a bit.

He had a HUGE oppertunity during the ProJared drama, he could have gained a new audience. Instead he did his now "famous" debunk stream. Anyone not familiar with Phil had no clue what was going on. And any who was familiar saw through it.

Phil is, and always has been, his own worst detractor.

Giving him a dollar now isn't good enough now. What an ungrateful piece of shit.

"Its all troll tips now dood!"

And what kind of idiot plays the crappy Stranger Things 3 game before watching the show. I'm sure his future ex wife is to blame.

I wonder if DSP will up the tip limit to $5 before giving a shout out.

You know he will. If you don't tip more than $5 then you support Tervin and his illegal streams.
