He applied the concept of grammatical gender to human social constructs (he was a firm behaviorist and didn't believe biology influenced gendered behavior). He didn't say anything about multiple genders, he was differentiating gender roles from biological sex. Prior to that only sex was used in reference to either. Its boy/girl, and if you happen to be trans / identify as the other, then congrats youre the other, but that doesnt mean that there are more than two because at the end of the day, youre one or the other. The whole idea of identifying as fluid because you might feel like one at one time or another at another time is silly, that clearly means at a given moment you can identify as one. Money is the principal influencer in the psuedo-scientific redefinition of gender as a social construct that many today do not question, despite his inductive theories and failed experimentations.
