If people want to participate in their country's election systems for their city, county, state, country and vote as soon as they can (which you can almost guarantee they will because it'll be hammered into them by the shitty state of the country), they'll start working as soon as they can. https://www.snagajob.com/resources/legal-age-to-work/ First, if youre under 18 you need to know that federal laws regulate the type of work you can do. Non-agricultural jobs require you to be at least 14 years of age. Fourteen- and 15-year-olds may not work more than three hours a day and 18 hours a week during the school year. During the summer and on school holidays, you can work eight hours a day and 40 hours a week, but there are time limits. You may not work later than 7 p.m. during the school year or later than 9 p.m. between June 1 and Labor Day. Bummer. So, right off the bat, they won't be able to work more than 3 hours a day during the school year and only 40 hours a week during summer and school holidays. If they max out these hours for those four years, working through spring break, summer break, and winter break, that puts them at around 4,400 hours, but this is at the cost of their teenage years, possibly their studies, development, hobbies, etc, but hey, they're halfway there. What you want, even though you're not admitting it because this'd make you intolerant and/or arrogant, is that you want to limit the people voting. You want a specific group of people voting. Not the entirety of the country including both men and women of all races and creeds (most of which fought valiantly for this right to vote), but just people that have served the country, as they may have a different mindset after serving the country. Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but that's a gamble you inherently want to risk, apparently. Furthermore, how arrogant can you be to suggest that people working in non-service jobs aren't proving their dedication to their country? I mean, seriously?! It is every citizen's right to question their government and to not blindly follow in the footsteps of their leaders. And you want to restrict them from voting, just because of their opinions? There is nothing wrong with only having an interest in yourself. With how little Congress and DC seem to care about everyone else but themselves and their own agendas, the average citizen should be caring about themselves, but certainly no-one else is. Certainly not their senators or representatives. They only care about their party, their agendas, their pocketbooks, and making sure legislation that conflicts with their agenda and their party is blocked. Yes, it's a very unpopular opinion, but you'd be foolish to think that this opinion is only that of one side and not both of them.
