There are some bosses in gaming that are more difficult than the creators expect...and then there's this guy. He's not quite pathetic enough to go down in one hit from any old attack, and there's no story significance to him being easy, or indeed, any story significance to him at all. In fact, the developers expected people to actually find said character a challenging opponent in some way, but failed.

This is the Breather Boss, the boss enemy that lacks any semblance of challenge or plot importance. They may just have had a predictable and easy-to-exploit weakness, or they may just be easy due to attack pattern. Nevertheless, they are easy and weak. Simple as that.

TL,DR: This boss is particularly easy in comparison to the other bosses in the game.

The guy in the intro, the whole plot has been leading toward your revenge against him and... you hold right and mash B and kill him every time. To be fair, most of the game's bosses until then are easy even without spin attack abuse, and it's hard to actually dodge his attacks if you insist on doing so, but he's barely a speedbump on the way to the dreaded 6-2.

I was thinking Palmer, but after reading the description I think he doesn't count. He has at least some plot significance and more importantly I'm pretty sure he is exactly as easy as intended.

Yeah, Palmer has plot significance. He's more of a joke boss. (not sure if Joke Boss is a trope) Edit: Palmer is also listed under Anti Climax Boss, which I think better applies to him

I second "anything you can kill with a Phoenix down" in the final fantasy series.
