My money are reserved for the remake.

Since I chose Riesz, Hawkeye and Charlotte in my SD3 JP on SNES console,

I'm choosing those 3 again for the remake.

For SD3 Fansub ver. on emu -

1. Duran, Angela, Riesz
2. Kevin, Charlotte, Riesz

In my many playthrough, Riesz is always in my team. XD

Also play as Riesz on Million Arthur: Arcana Blood as well.

Is Trails of Mana a lot more popular than Secret of Mana in Japan? That's one possible reason I can think of that Trials got better treatment. But since this is Square Enix the real answer might be "it got lucky".

Riesz is waifu material.

She has been making appearances on other games like Million Arthur: Arcana Blood and also in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius JP. And more artworks of her than the other 5.

I assume because SD3 was never released outside Japan, it's more likely to attract attention.

The only thing that kept this game from being my all time favorite is the class shit

You're not given enough info on them when the subject comes up so you have to research it extensively

and then on top of that, some of them are sorta useless and don't work all too well

so theres suddenly alot of pressure on deciding

and thats on top of having to grind for the materials to even do them

sure you can read a guide on which is the "best" ones to go with but THEN that sorta makes it lame too

Completely fair criticism. And unless you take the little girl, whatever her name is, you have no real healing until the first class change. It's like playing Secret of Mana except every boss is the Spikey Tiger.

I think so. Like used copies of the SNES version of SoM go for like $1 and SD3 goes for like $20. and it seems more popular in general

"3. The game looks a lot better than 2018's Secret of Mana remake. When the remake for Secret of Mana released, it looked a lot like a low-budget remake that did not accurately translate the art from the SNES classic. With Trials of Mana, the developers wanted to put their best foot forward for the game's first introduction to western shores, so there was an engine change to Unreal Engine 4 and more resources put into making it look good."

I bought the collection and will probably pick up the remake.

And by the way, if you're reading Square Enix, sorry not sorry about complaining that you were bringing the SaGa games over. I might not have complained had I known Collection of Mana was coming the next day.

It's about 25 hours for one playthrough. And there's only three major routes and they're generally the same for the majority of the game.

Been out today so finally catching up on the Treehouse look and oh my god the remake is absolutely killing my emotions. This is the most insanely well done recreation of a retro game I have ever seeeeeen, just everything being completely familiar but gorgeously transformed to 3D...

... and because it's so comparable to SE games of the same era it's also getting me imagining the same kind of remake done to FF6, like I can visually see Wendel as if I'm coming up in Kohlingen, mentally subbing in the inn to recruit Shadow as the house up front, Rachel's house far in the distance, and the house on the right where she's kept in the years later... aaaaaaaaah my [final] fantasiesss

Tho the vibrant colours specifically doing really well for SD3, man I did not expect all my nostalgia feels from the cave and waterfall

Treehouse instantly reminded me to push "Trials" of Mana to my most hyped release by far now
