Man I just woke up to watch the stuff from this and I wish the Avengers presentation wasn't so limp. I don't think the game looks bad I just wish they'd actually gone in depth on the gameplay. There's definitely some brief shots of it with no HUD in the trailer they showed but it's so quick you can't get a feel for it.

feels like avengers is going to be like two separate games, the single player (where you play as the main 5) and the coop, where you can select some of the added characters to do raids or some such nonsense

Nothing for me from this press conference. The FF VII remake looks really pretty, but I bought FF X because I thought THAT was pretty, too, and I could never get into it.

FF7R's gameplay seems way better than I thought it would be, that's cool. And FF8 remaster finally, that's also cool.

Overall this seems to have been one of the better showings this year minus Avengers coming in with a whimper and not a bang.

Guess I'm ok with having slept through it.

I'm not even asking for them to use the MCU likeness for the designs, at least make the characters look even remotely close to the comic books would have been enough >_>

If the first game is just Midgar, and Red XIII doesn't join until the extreme tail end, that would mean we just have four main characters for 95% of the game. I wonder if that means Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge might be temporary party members?

I'm not sure that would help considering they're only really around for the first bombing mission and the attack on Sector 7, where they all die. Unless they're going to change their roles.

While I'm pumped about FF7 remake not looking like shit, I'm also pumped to finally be able to play FF8. My PS1 disk has a scratch and can't get through the Balamb Garden taking off cutscene without freezing.

I would imagine it'd be more like they're going to expand their roles. You're already seeing a bit of it in the trailer where Jessie rides on the back of the motorcycle with Cloud and gives him a Materia for saving her.

The question is whether they even make Red XIII playable in this game, as he'd only be available for 2 mandatory fights (3rd optional). I guess you could make the argument that they need to design his playable character at some point so they might as well do it now, but they could just avoid him entirely, scrap the elevator boss fight and don't let him be in the team for H0512. Then he becomes playable in part 2.

In which case there would indeed only be 4 playable characters all game, which is fine.

If they're going to make Midgar the entire game and plan for it to be a normal full-length title, they might just add more stuff between escaping Shinra HQ and escaping Midgar. Or they might just keep the way it is now, with him being a very late party member.

Yeah and I also forgot that he's a playable team member after the H0512 fight so more battle opportunities there. And probably some endgame/new game content where he's playable, also a good point.

Thankfully I ignored the whole LiS part. I have the first game, but havent played it yet. Was hoping for some real details on the KH DLC, but they didnt really show or say much. Hard to know just how much content its gonna be. I feel like KH3 needed several more hours of story since the whole last part just happens too fast.

The Square Enix Store has been updated with two luxury items. Final Fantasy VII watches are now available to preorder. There will be Cloud and Sephiroth varieties released in March 2020, and each one will cost $2,499.99.

The Final Fantasy VII watches will be extremely limited. In each region, only 77 will be made. They are being made by K-uno artisans at Seiko Instruments in Japan. The Cloud model will be silver stainless steel with a blue sapphire glass crown inspired by Materia, his 3D Cloudy Wolf emblem, a mother-of-pearl disc, and the Final Fantasy VII logo on it. The Sephiroth model has a black coating on it and the 3D One-Winged Angel emblem, in addition to the mother-of-pearl disc and Final Fantasy VII logo on the exposed rotor.

Yes as someone who enjoyed LiS 1 and hasn't gotten around to buying or playing 2 yet, that made me really upset. I really need some information from whoever thought that spoiling the entire plot of a story-based game in a trailer was a good idea.

FF14 is great and everyone should at least try playing it.

I put in my time lol. I was the ultimate flex during Heavensward. PLD, AST, DRG, SMN all max geared.

I burnt out though. I might play again since the only games I can think of for the rest of the year that for sure have my interest are Code Vein and Death Stranding.
