Yeah, I tried the stealing it after he used it thing in a couple runs. But there were also a couple times I completely missed my chance to steal because I forgot to keep Zack/Aerith ready to do it and I blew through the phase too fast. In my successful run he just never got a chance to cast death. It's a weird fight where phase 1 is 20 seconds and the other phases are 2 seconds each.

whew, got Baku down. Aeris, Elarra, Kuja, Zidane, Vivi. failed first try, then i remembered i hadn't spent any of the Magia i farmed for the IX guys. also made necro countdown to be sure and i'm out of rubies.

After doing the Safer Sephiroth CM, I actually felt motivated to tackle D??? Jenova. I probably could have done this a while ago, but I never really felt like attempting it seriously.



I'm pretty damn stacked, but it's my first AASB-less sub-30, so I'm still very happy.
Tifa USB2+AOSB - dps
Zack CSB, USB - Boostga, chain building and called the magicite
Shelke - Entrustbot
Aerith USB2 - Dispel and Hastega as her abilities
Sephiroth - USB1, USB2, AOSB

Zack had DMT, then went LS, LS, Chain, so the boostga would last until the end.

Shelke started with Mako Might, entrusted to Sephiroth right away, then entrusted anything else to Aerith. She also IC'd the realm chain on turns 3 to overwrite Zack's wind chain.

Tifa started with Earthen Rebuke, then spammed Ironfist Earth once the USB2 was up.

Sephiroth spammed Demon's Cross, then after trance triggered, USB1->USB2, then more DC spam and AOSB.

Marche USB is a staple in both my Deathgaze team, and T2 Queklain. I got 41 seconds on Queklain, but that was before any 5* magicites, and now I have at least 2 Madeens I could slot in there. But yeah, QC1 after each knight ability of his is quite sweet. You got a great pickup there!

Marche USB is a relic I've wanted for a long time. Might actually be worth picking up with my first 1000 lenses, which I should have by the end of week.

Dream select is finally coming tonight, what's everyone getting? I bought another leviathan pouch so I guess I'm doing 3. Mine are most likely:
- Cloud Glint
- Tyro USB4
- Rydia AOSB

Anything else I should consider? Maybe I should get an LM instead of Rydia's AOSB, but it does hit 3 elements and I like Rydia.

Marche USB is still surprisingly good for how old it is, despite being obsolete by Lightning USB3. He's a MVP against Deathgaze with all those short dooms you have to deal with.

Dream Selects are tonight! I'll be pulling on AOSB, LM and USB.

LM will be easy since Rinoa dualcast will finally be added.

USB I'm thinking Quistis or Y'shtola USB2, Quistis can take over for OK when he's going offensive and that would probably let me get the sub30 on the torment, but I'm concerned it won't be useful the future because Quistis doesn't have any enelement (well besides lolbio) and will be worthless in the 6* era since she can't entrust.

AOSB is more tricky. OK would be the easy choice since it covers 4 elements, but won't hold up in *6 Magicite. Kain is probably the best choice because I got his awakening.

There will be Awakening selects in the future though so you can get it there as well if you want to skip that banner. Even if I don't have an Awakening for her it will help with torment and Typhon farming, she's been kinda of a liability because of her lack of dualcast.

She might even help beat ice weak Odin since I have her brave and Terra can't do anything once her Awakening runs out.

Also I think there's a 500 gem Brave USB select coming up soon (around the time the KH3 event dropped in in Japan) You can get Rydia's earth brave so you don't need her enearth LMR.

Too late, I already took Rydia's LM. Didn't know about the brave select, but being able to get train moving with just one SB instead of two is definitely a bonus.

When we finally get the Awakening select I assume there'll be another LMR select so I could just take Rinoa's then, if I grab her awakening. Anyway, here are my pulls:

LMR - 2/11 - Dupe Rubicant BSB, Orlandu LMR2!, chose Rydia en-earth

Still kinda considering doing the fun in the sun (I'd have to do 50 mythril and one gem pull) to get Y'shtola's USB. I probably don't do the glint select for Cloud since it's just too much money at this point.

No dupes, but not too exciting - I already have Rinoa's USB1 so her earth brave would have been a lot more useful. Ramza and Vaan's USBs were my top two wants on the banner. Need to see if I can figure out how to do Ultima Weapon (XIV) with pretty decent (pre-awakening) tools but no elemental focus.

I'm kinda unsure here, I did the two 50 mythril draws already, fully anticipating pulling Tyro USB4. Though if I do that in the USB select instead, I can technically select something else (or vice versa, since Tyro's is on both). Aeris USB2 has always eluded me and would likely help against Jenova (have a bunch of Cloud stuff, and Sephiroth AASB/USB2).

Got it, I'll likely hold off on his then. Got plenty of options regardless, and will end up having Tyro USB4, so it's not exactly a pressing need.

Now it's just to debate what to select on the USB select, when I do it. Aeris USB2, Vivi USB, something else that I haven't looked at yet.

Likely will do the LMR one too, though no idea what to select for that. Cloud enwind maybe.

Maaaay do glint if Cloud 6* is on it.

You can get Vivi USB from anima lens so don't bother, ability double is mostly obsolete by awakenings these days.

Get something for torment or boosting, or a holy mage DPS for Ark.

Yeah the holy mage is definitely a good call, because I have no idea how I'm going to take down Ark yet. I haven't really fully looked at my holy magic options yet, though I think I have Hope USB lol

Alright, made some good progress:

IV - 28.24
Tactics - 29.61
XIV - 37.48

IV was definitely the easiest, because I have two awakenings and I've been working on it for a while already. I just needed a good clean run to get my time under 30, got it on my first try. With the sequencing I was using Rydia doesn't get to user her AOSB (it would be the next action after the 30 second mark) but it didn't matter. Tellah's SSB was the missing piece here in my previous attempts - team Atk/mag boost and team IC1 was exactly what I needed to make the Kain/Rydia combo work.

Tactics is a much easier fight but it took some work to perfect my sequencing. The winning attempt involved Ramza using his old USB (party buff + IC1) with his initial instant action, getting the chain and Marche's USB up instantly, so we can start dealing damage as fast as possible.

XIV was the hardest of them all because of the tools I have and the limited time you have to finish phase 5. I don't think I can get this time down much with the current team.

It's probably better to just make the ice boosting mage dagger/rod than use such an old weapon with such low stats. Rydia probably won't be in your Typhon team anyway unless you have her Awakening. Maybe if you're using OK, Qusitis or Seven for Typhon it might be worth keeping.

I also got a rainbow in the daily today, Raines unique, I guess it's nice he has a pocket hastaga. I was pretty scared when I saw it though because I was worried I was gonna dupe the Rinoa dualcast LMR I just got off the dream select.

Aerith, Bartz, Zidane, Tyro and Zack

Not sure where I want to go next. Maybe Lightning weak, with Bartz AASB, Kain AASB and a complete Prompto. I'll wait for the 6* Imperil Lightning ability, though.

Selected Tyro USB4 from the fun in the sun thing. Can't do dream select until I get my new credit card, so this was the safe choice. Thinking potentially Aeris USB2 for the select, mainly for Jenova, and to help physical teams (though I also have Elarra, and hers has been great).

Gonna kill Deathgaze one more time tonight to give me a 4th (so I can have a lvl 99), then will likely give Heca a shot. Unsure who I should bring though. Zack is in due to chain, but I have Bartz AASB, Zidane AASB/USB, and Cloud USB1/USB2/AOSB. Elarra likely for healing, but I don't know if I can fit all 3 of those DPS in, as I'll likely need a spot for an entrust bot or something in there.

Cloud USB1/AOSB with a chain is enough to wreck Hecat, adding two Awakenings is overkill. You don't need an entrustbot for him either because he constantly attacks with weak rapid attacks giving your team plenty of meter. If your DPS is good enough to kill him in the third phase before he goes too crazy he's the easiest 5*, but that third phase is one of the hardest if you're not quick enough since he can wipe your party out before your healer's ATB bar can refill.

I made my picks on the other Selects, Quistis USB and OK AOSB, I know it's a risky move since neither of these characters have enelements but they should get me some torment wins. I also figured that a 6* magic boosting hat is also always going to be useful (even though the element boost is water.)

At least Dena hopefully won't let OK get completely shafted in 6* Magicite given how popular he is, I could see him getting a second awakening that gives him infusion based on the ability he used like Seifer. Can't say the same for Quistis though since she seems to be the ignored one of the core 6 of FF8.

Booyah! That Rinoa dualcast LMR actually sealed the deal right when the chain about to end! Happy to have my Black Armored Echos for future torments!

Congrats. I started working on wind today but I haven't gotten it yet. Not sure if I'm going to be able to do it.

I could really use a healing boon to inherit but Lakshmi is the most painful magicite for me to farm out of all of them right now. I need a darkness awakening, but I don't think there are any decent banners with one for quite a while.

Emperor Awakening should be coming up soon, he can actually be physical like how Seph/Riku can go mage and he can equip swords, he triples as an Earth and Wind mage too.

True... that banner only has two awakenings on it though so overall power level seems kinda low. I'll probably just target Garland or Orlandu in the next fest. (Garland's awakening really should have been in the I event coming up real soon - that banner with just 1 awakening is basically garbage.)

Despite only two awakenings it's still a really good banner, and is fantastic for the torment. Emperor is one of the best mages to invest in now and two earth mage awakenings will prepare you for Ramuh. (He also has Wind infusion with his BSB but most people won't go mage for Titan or Wind Weak Odin with Cloud, Zidane and Bartz being so popular.)

Emperor is also a popular pick for Awakening selects.

also doing wind because i need one of Cloud's glints, and there's 4 AASBs there that i don't have, plus 2 wind magic chains. hell i don't even have a single magic wind USB.

unsure beyond that. i probably won't be able to resist doing ice/water/dark, with me lacking phys gen 2 chains and there being 5 total between those 3 elements, plus Seph/Tidus AASBs that don't return for at least 6 months and Celes/Orlandu/Rydia AASBs as well (assuming i don't get them in holy). lightning is a thought as well, since i don't have a gen 2 chain at all, though i already have Ashe's AASB, Kain's is bad and there's only 2 others. maybe if they wait long enough for Queen and Desch to get in.

I feel like I should probably skip these elemental banners, I've had such bad luck with the realm refresh and RoP that I've become wary of banners with huge pools, especially with the higher 1/11 nerf now.

Also these probably aren't as good as you guys are expecting, in Japan these came out shortly after the realm refresh so don't expect awakenings that came out recently unless Dena Global updates the pool. It's probably just gonna be the 4A ones, Sephiroth and maybe Rem

If we get the same pool as Japan then I'm not really sure these are worth pulling on. The pools are big and there aren't many top prizes. For instance looking at the water banner the top prizes for me are Tidus AASB, Rikku CSB, or Strago CSB. (I already have Bartz AASB). That's 3/66. A good regular banner has 4/14 top prizes... so it costs 3.33x as much but gives you 6.28x the chance of drawing something good. I really hope they update these for global to make them worth drawing on.
