I was just going to make a thread about this. I thought it was going to be a mind blow episode where all of them were in the vr world to begin with, so when Theo finds out about Mark she ends their simulation and they all wake up in the slums or a trailer park or something.

Indeed, saw this episode last night and im still thinking about it. The concept is nuts, and the acting was phenomenal. The shots in the video game were so fucking beautiful. Probably the best episode since san junipero.

I really felt like this season as a whole, while good production value and acting, is lacking its....black mirror-ness. There's no clever mindscape of technology being subverted into something more sinister. There's no darkness to speak of, or at least, it's not nearly as subtle anymore.

I havent seen the third ep yet but I do like how the first two episodes seem a lot more grounded than last season. It's a nice change of pace imo.

Was I the only one who thought the guys felt something when they kissed, but lied about it because of their insecurities? Neither dude seemed comfortable admitting that they might be gay. The skinny guy was stuck in his marriage regardless of how they felt about each other, and the bigger dude was too much of a bro to be a homewrecker (you could see a tear on his cheek).

There were hints scattered throughout the episode. Skinny dude couldn't get it up for his wife even before he banged the other guy in the game, and the big dude wasn't in to the girl he was seeing. You might point out that he stared at that other woman at the cook out, but I interpreted that as a longing for days before family life and generally for the road not taken.

I thought so too, except I thought that Danny felt something and played it off when Karl didn't. I think Karl loved the experience of being a woman.

Or, they were both lying and couldn't handle the damage that it would cause.
