Thirteen is just overkill. Like, if you can think back on a show and actually struggle to remember a single time where you smiled or laugh...then that should say a lot on how you feel, IMO. To be fair, Cromartie has half-length episodes (12 minutes compared to the normal 24 minutes most anime have) so I've actually given it 4 normal episodes worth of time to impress me so far. Episodes 9 and 12 made me laugh and convinced me that Mechazawa is the best character in the whole damn show, while 10-11 and 13 were also more enjoyable than the slow first 8 episodes. I still don't see myself giving the show a high score in the end, but it's at least shown me enough for me to see it all the way through. The second half of the series was definitely better than the slow first half, and in particular, the episode with Maeda taking care of everyone's pets and then trying to act like a cat was great. Seriously, who the hell was that random catgirl that showed up? Overall, I didn't find the show nearly as funny as you guys hyped it up to be. Mechazawa was still the best part of the show, with Takenouchi (both of them), Maeda, and Kamiyama himself closely behind. Freddie was honestly disappointing considering (again) how much you guys hyped him up. The best I can give Cromartie is a 7/10, fun but still kinda "meh" overall. If these OVA's technically count as a chibi spin-off, then it's probably the 2nd-best chibi spin-off I've ever seen, only behind BanG Dream Garupa Pico. They were that cute and that funny.
