lolwut no.
Between the director having nothing noteworthy under his belt, both the writers having nothing of noteworthy under their belt and the fact that it was put out by lol screen Gem (a Sony studio, go figure). Who has been cranking that trash for a while now. Their last (and maybe only) good movie I can think of off the top of my head is Searching.

Fun Fact: The writers are both James Gunn's brothers, whose name is all over the marketing. Yeah, he's the executive producer, but that's also a strategy the marketing team does when the studio have no faith in the film and its core creative team (the writer(s) and director) and they just pick out the biggest name involved with the project and hope that's enough to sell it. You now remember Mortal Engines.

I'm just saying, if it looks like a duck, quack like a duck and getting the critical reception like the duck I assumed it would be the moment I saw the first trailer...Yeah.

Seems like a one-note movie summarized entirely in a "okay, here's the premise, some shit happens, annnnd really that's all your gonna get, don't ask us any questions plz and ty" kind of excuse.

Some reviewers also claim this plus even Man of Steel had better plot and character development....which is a huge fucking ouch.

Fuck it. I just read the plot on Wikipedia. Meh. It reads like it devolved into a generic slasher movie.

Even the concept isn't that interesting, because the "what if Superman was evil" angle has been done plenty of times. The only thing that makes it unique here is that they frame that as a traditional horror movie.

It's eh. 90 minutes isn't enough to tell a good superman goes bad. they basically go he's a good kid, the ship calls him, now he's a killer I was hoping for more of a. What if superman wasn't found by the near Saint like figure of Jonathan Kent.

As a horror, it's just jump scares and gore.

The ending gives it a small boost since you expect the mom to kill him in the end but then the credits sour it as it feels like they went to turn a franchise out of it and meh.

You start the topic by saying a movie CE enjoys is hot garbage.

You are just being bitter, no one cares about you not enjoying something. If someone else likes a movie, why should you care?

Also, I haven't seen nor do I plan to see Venom.

It's just my opinion, guy. I never said you had to accept my opinion as the correct take or that you are not allowed to like things. In fact, this topic is asking other explicitly about how they feel about this movie as I got my feelings out of the way in the first post. Try not to take stuff so personally, m'kay.
