She told me a site she uses was having a flash sale, so I tossed her the money for one since I need a bigger card in my Switch already.

Anyone want to play spot the difference?

Bye $35, I'll have to get $70 for a real one in a couple of weeks, no way I'm trusting that.

There are programs you can test the SD cards to see if they truely have the storage they claim

No clue, I'm not trusting it in my Switch and don't have anything else worth putting it in (a phone with 8GB that is already overkill and a old DS flash cart where even the entire system library wouldn't need that space). Will put it through some size check software though, see if it is even 128GB.

SD cards are such a pain to buy online these days since it's hard to tell real from fake. I'd say it's generally better to go to the store to buy one.

That was my plan, but I wasn't going until next week, so she mention the flash sale on a site she apparently uses often, for half the price, I dropped some money on her instead.

If I am going to buy one, I am going to order directly from Samsung, as I trust their brand

And H2testw is done.

Warning: Only 121887 of 121888 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 18.6 MByte/s
Reading speed: 15.0 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

So size is fine, but I should have a read / write of 98 / 65, not 15 / 18.6, so this card is some piece of shit.

Memory cards are one of the most popular things to make cheap knock off's of in the world. Especially since plenty of people have no clue when they buy a fake one meanwhile if they buy a fake Gucci bag or something 99% of women can tell once it arrives almost instantly. Even ones that appear to work fine for a while could still be a cheap knock-off that has nowhere near the longevity or reliability as the actual one.

I'm no expert, but that seems really bad

Barely better than the no brand name 8GB I have in my phone, and that is a old and tiny thing, so slower speeds are to be expected.
