really enjoyed it more than both the bay movies.

negatives first:
-story was a bit bland
-a bit too many action scenes which cut into character interaction time
-a bit too bloated with many characters just feeling like they were "there" without any real development compared to so many other stories.

now the pros:
+great animation which makes its dragged out action scenes not really boring
+surprisingly brutal in spite of its kid-friendly animation style(pg13 and all)
+character interaction was on point which made me wish there were more of them hence the negative above
+humor is on point and is carried by the star of the movie, mikey, all the way. his adolescent glee accounts for most of the fun and enjoyment throughout the movie.

btw i know next to nothing about the newer tmnt animated shows so maybe their personalities came from there but as a standalone entry, it works very well.

definitely recommended.
