I manually inspect gasoline, butane, propane equipment and accessories at a nearby refinery to make sure they're not leaking over the EPA limit. A lot of it is high out of my reach, requiring ladders and sometimes manlifts for the inspection.

So, perhaps a modified laser pointer you can just point to equipment from afar that gives a digital readout of their condition.

Internet Face Punch Protocol

I have a not job job, so I'll go with it.

Something that cleans up all the PSDs automatically, lock layers, and spots errors/issues/missed layers or missed colored spots and points them out.

(I color PSDs for a pet site, and thanks to Photoshop I'm struggling to do some of them because Photoshop doesn't play well with others and I'm too broke to get it for a basically fake job. I get paid site currency or credit, those don't buy Photoshop.)

A mechanism where I can "break" and "fix" my phone on command.

My job is mostly about inventing tools to make it easier...

One thing I do miss is the laptop at my old job had a docking station, so I could just dock my laptop to use it like a desktop at my desk. Now I have a USB hub, which while I understand why they use it I would love to have the convenience of a dock because the hubs are so finicky. Some times it doesn't want to work, or recognize things, etc. The dock just handled everything perfectly because it had it's own set of dedicated graphic hardware, meaning the laptop was essentially just used for the CPU and hard drive.

So I guess if I had to invent something, it would be a cheap wireless dock to replace my USB hub. That way I get the benefits of the USB hub (cheaper and more universal then a dock) but with the convenience I got with the dock.

A better wireshark. Currently a wireshark will only mostly show the packets of data between three devices. Having one that could record and few the packets from the start of a call to the end of a call would be amazing. Granted it would break a LOT of CPNI laws
