I just feel like you should support your team through thick and thin.

I also find that fairweather fans tend to be more obnoxious than the ones who do stick with the team regardless of results.

Raptors fans definitely aren't fairweather. That arena is full, and tickets are expensive, even when the team is garbage.

We'd kill for the cheap prices they have in Orlando to get people to the game. I've been to the square to watch a Leafs playoff game and it's madness trying to get out of there in a crowd. The game was over 3 minutes into it, the fact that a majority of the fans even stayed that long is crazy, show me one single other market that would have that.

If I applied to season tickets now, there's a good chance I wouldn't get them in my lifetime. The Scotiabank Arena is packed every single night for both teams.

Raptors were the hip fan base to be a part of in the Bosh days and they kinda have taken that too far and theyre insufferable about it like Cardinals or Packers fans.

The best fan base I can think of for NBA might be last decades GSW. That place was nuts for hopeless Baron Davis teams and willed that team past a 1 seed as an 8 seed. Detroit Basketball was good until World Peace became so violent.

Only the Magic Fast Break Passes are cheap for the record. If you buy normal season tickets they are still pretty pricey.

Nosebleed season tickets are $1800 for the season.
Mid bowl behind the basket are $2500-5000
Mid-bowl mid court are $5000
Lower Bowl mid court are $12500

And yes of all the fans I dealt with on Twitter (yes lol Twitter), the Raptors fans were by far the most insufferable which is why I made a point to say Jurassic Park was empty. They said similar things about the Magic fans leaving our losses and we had more people stay in blowouts for mid-week games than they did at Jurassic Park for a weekend game in a conference final.

That's true that that's on the lakers, but it also doesn't mean magic has any right to get upset when someone else is rightfully pointing out that he's not at work very often, and honestly he shouldn't be upset if Pelinka felt he could do a better job, assuming that was his only crime. Because as we've clearly seen, magic was not doing a very good job of what the actual job description of a GM should be, regardless of what the arranged deal was.

Like if pelinka was sabotaging him that's one thing, but if what happened was "Magic knows pelinka thinks he could do a better job, despite pelinka not actually doing anything wrong to put that into action" then that's just on magic for being unreasonable. And magic's gripe sounds like that's exactly what it is, that he felt "betrayed" because pelinka thought he could do a better job...despite pelinka not actually trying to force him out at any point or doing anything actually betrayal-like.

Tl;dr I think it's possible that magic "felt" betrayed but pelinka didn't actually betray him.

There's obviously 2 sides to every story but given how Magic normally is and given how he didn't do any sort of character assassination on anybody else, I'm inclined to think Pelinka is slimy and was undermining him.

See the thing to me though is that magic goes on to say that the straw that broke him was not being able to fire walton, who he quotes as saying it was not pelinka, but tim harris, who was moving in on him on that front. So I'm just really confused as to what other way pelinka could be undermining him if the main thing wasn't even his fault by magic's own admission.

I think magic just bit off more than he could chew even with his limited role and won't just attribute his poor run to that.

The end of season awards are such a joke.

Steve Clifford improved the Magic by 17 wins (most in the league) and took a team predicted to be bottom 3 to the playoffs. No mention amongst CotY awards. He should have been in that 2nd-4th cluster behind Budenholzer imo.

Terrance Ross scored 200+ 3's off the bench which has never been done before by a player who didn't start a single game. No mention amongst 6th man of the year. He should have been on the back end of the top 3. Like 3-5.

The Magic hovered between 1st and 2nd best defense in the league post all star break and had the 3rd best record post all star break. They was entirely off the back of the defense. Not a single Magic player got even a vote in the NBA Defense teams (James Harden, Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving amongst others are people who got votes). Gordon should have been on the fringes of the 2nd team. Isaac should have picked up some token votes at least.

Like I didn't expect a Magic player to win any of the awards but to not even get a mention whatsoever is an absolute joke.

They really need the voting to be done by Players/Coaches and not by the media who blatantly do not watch teams who aren't on national TV like the Magic.

I find it hard to believe that Orlando, who made the playoffs because of their defense, had ZERO votes for a player to make a defensive team.

Specifically Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Isaac. For them not to receive a single vote is ridiculous.
