Currently just past the halfway mark for Deen Fate / Stay Night, and ... maybe it's my imagination, maybe it's because of how old the show actually is, but this is a lot better than I remember. Watching Free! once was good enough for me, I think. She was reading volume 2 of Case Closed manga. Excluding relatives who got into it from because of me, I've seen maybe three people ever who like the series, which is a damn shame because it's one of my absolute favorites. I made a loud noise resembling a yelp, got a bit tongue-tied explaining myself, but I eventually got there. I haven't checked into the movie but the next arc after the anime fits a movie format pretty well. I don't think they could conceivably wrap up the whole thing in a movie. I hope we do get a proper season 2 at some point. i haven't checked up on the manga basically since the show aired. Hopefully it finishes. I know the author was pretty slow and goes on hiatus a lot. I'm always open to a re-watch; even for mysteries, where a lot of people feel like there's no point once you know what happens. The con over the weekend went okay, all things considered; there were a lot of issues, but everyone on staff put in 110 percent to make sure everything went well regardless. After being forced to change venue due to contract issues, the whole thing took place in four different buildings, up to twenty minutes away from each other. There was free transportation on a handful of buses, but they were often delayed and were always packed so people were waiting in line for one for up to a half hour. In addition to the rave thing, one vendor was kicked out for tweeting for people to sneak into the con so she could make more sales. She went on a tirade on social media and even the local news, and patrons are going nuts taking sides and shitting on the con in general. But just as many people are defending TnT; saying they had a great time anyway and they could see the staff were dedicated and making the best of a bad situation. I also saw a few faces that I always see volunteering at other conventions; you eventually become a small community if you go to enough events. And my group was really cool to hang out with; as we were leaving locations after teardown (with one of us getting looks because of his L cosplay) we were all singing along to random songs. (I also felt a strange bit of shame; the older white woman and her son knew all the lyrics to some classic rap songs that I hadn't even heard before. So, now I've got all of Black Lagoon on blu ray. Also found Dead Rising 2 for 360 and replaced 4 of my paperback Wheel of Time books with hard backs. They decide not to try an otherwise decent series, and in worst cases their future judgments could be influenced by that way of thinking. On video games, I've been trying to jump back into Bravely Default, since I've been on Chapter 4 since like.. whenever the game came out. Is it as pretty as the Ufotable Fate shows? No, but it remains the only way to experience the Saber arc short of playing the VN, and, for that purpose, it is enjoyable, IMO. ... The OST is also god-tier. I hunted it down on Amazon shortly after finishing the show. Unfortunately, the OST for the Ufotable version U.B.W. is not so easily obtained, but we are rewatching that now. Going to pre-order the import release of Heaven's Feel II. Lost Butterfly this weekend, most likely, between bouts of Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
