My compatibility is starting to get a little dicey. The median compatibility keeps dropping, and it seems inevitable that I will be left with maybe 20 with 50+% compatibility, but my highest is rising ever so slightly. My top three this year would all be my #1 from last year.

I'm surprised at Flash Frost's easy victory. Looks like that Pac-Man song was more liked than I realized. I'm disappointed by Nanohemu, *sigh*, but its loss was expected. Next round could be interesting, though my expectations favor Kill Command. I love Melodies of Life... that would win at least a couple of rounds in VGMC if everyone else liked it as much as me.

I've talked about the seeding methodology at length before. That one had the potential to be aversive to listeners, so I completely stand by the 23 seed. I'm glad it overcame that position, though, because it is a neat song.

Yeah, I was planning on doing some MS stuff because that's one that hasn't gotten any in. I love PoDD's soundtrack but Strawberry Crisis already has two first-round exits and Reincarnation has one. I prefer trying new things.

Both matches were trading votes back and forth up to about 15-15. Like, it was comical how I'd take one vote and the next one would cancel it.

And then Sky Ended took a 4 vote lead, and AGHR answered with a 10-1 run, and Sky Ended started to come back after that. Meanwhile, Gallant Gunshot also fell behind, but made the same exact push at the end. There was a short wave of Gunshot-Sky voters...and then the last two were Flower-Boss.

If Where the Sky Ended won again, I would have been perplexed. Am I correct in that there are exactly four Atelier songs in this contest? If so, three of the four have now qualified for the retirement round, with one more still possible.

I nearly did that myself, but thankfully i remembered to check a while later.

Exsphere_NOSURGE turns off plenty of times. Don't Turn It Off didn't learn from Exsphere, so we just had to pull the plug.

As far as the tiebreaker.... I like Dead Neon Hell City, but man.... if it wins in the tiebreaker, it will have beaten something in my top ten this contest (Dark Man Stage), as well as something in my top twenty (Sky of Twilight). That would suck.

Those four are the obvious ones for me. Yeah, I'm a sucker for wild, complicated chip tunes. I've never heard such music before, and now Nanohemu has now supplanted DuckTales' Moon theme as my favorite 8-bit chip tune ever. (INVAXION is a much more recent game, so I guess it doesn't really count as 8-bit) Has there been any more music like this in past VGMC's? As for my fifth favorite, it's probably....

There are other songs outside of this list that I definitely like, but I'll leave it at that. Hopefully I didn't miss anything for the top 10. I'd say the list is more or less accurate after putting a little bit of thought into it.

Some interesting things to note: My top 5 are all favorites bracket retirees including 2 bracket winners (Sky of Twilight and It Has to Be This Way). Raging Spirits is the only song in the top 10 that I voted against. There's also 2 songs in the honorable mentions that I voted against in their matches as well. My own nomination of Rhuzerv being in only 6th place feels kinda weird haha. I think that just goes to show how many strong favorites of mine dropped in round 3.
