Also wasn't the point of the dragon riding scene to show that Jon is definitely a Targaryon? Can't only Targaryons ride dragons? Maybe they did that so if he questions his birth they can point it out.

This is a good point, was thinking about this earlier in the day.

My only real complaint about the episode is that it still feels like it was a premiere for a 10 episode season. I dont care about setting stuff up, shouldnt shit be going down already?... only 6 episodes here...

supposedly some of the later episodes are longer. I think at least 1 episode is maybe an hour and a half long. also rumor is stuff kicks off fast soon. either next episode or 3rd one, something really BIG is gonna happen

Can't only Targaryons ride dragons?

Was the bonding process ever explained or just a speculation to justify their uniqueness? I know the HBO series isn't 100% the same as the book series but the A Song of Ice and Fire wiki doesn't say much about the bonding process other than the dragon not taking any other riders until said rider is dead or riding said dragon.

It was.. Ok

But I felt a lot of the characterization and motivations were a bit wonky considering the situation at hand.

Yeah they made it seem like this season was gonna be longer but it's actually shorter lol. Either way, there isnt much left to wrap up in the show so it's more than enough time I think
