I watched the first four episodes of Circlet Princess today, and so far I'm enjoying it. It's not super high quality by any means, but it's fun, funny, and not really taking itself seriously. The main character, Yuka, is exactly the kind of cute, oblivious, happy-go-lucky dork that I enjoy watching in anime.

Also, Yuka's talking AI bracelet (who mostly speaks with a lot of sass and sarcasm) is played by the same Japanese VA who played Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z/Super, and that's just hilarious to me. If this show ever got an English dub, I hope they keep the same voice connection and get Chris Sabat to voice the AI bracelet. It's not impossible, because Funimation now has a partnership with Bilibili and they're already dubbing Million Arthur, which was previously an exclusive that Bilibili had held back and not licensed anywhere like Circlet Princess.

Is it a bad thing that more than half of my play time in Soul Calibur 6 since I bought the game has been spent in the character creation mode? I've made a bunch of different anime characters in the game, but I've barely touched the main story mode and haven't played online once.

I haven't had XBL in a while so that and training has been all I've done in SCVI since Amy came out. I love the two new colors that a lot of characters got added this week. I had already made a red palette swap for Cervantes and Mi-na for example, and now I've got official ones to save custom character space <_<

Also, now that SC II and III's songs have been added I've got my favorite music in the series available. I replaced most of the stage music this week.

What characters/styles do you mostly use? I'd say my best are Raphael, Geralt, Siegfried, and Nightmare, but I haven't experimented too much with either of the DLC characters yet. I'm hoping they bring Hilde or Setsuka back, but I'm 99% sure the last character of the season pass is just Cassandra.

Zasalamel is a style that I feel like I should really try to get better with, especially considering that I have two created characters and a plan for a third who use that style. I was very salty about him not being in SC5 because it meant I couldn't create those three characters correctly.

Oh, and speaking of characters we were salty about not being in SC5, I forgot to mention Talim in my previous post of the styles I'm good with.

I was watching it, but I had to drop it because it became very apparent that a certain kind of subject matter that I'm really not comfortable with would be a prevalent part of the series. It's a shame, because the story itself was very interesting.

I didn't get into Mob Psycho at all (tried it when it was on Toonami and really didn't like it) and I'm waiting for the dub of C&T, so I actually have nothing on Thursdays this season. For me, the best anime day of the week is either Tuesday (One Punch Man + Isekai Quartet) or Friday (Fruits Basket + Hitori Bocchi) if we only count seasonal stuff. Sunday (Black Clover + Star Twinkle Precure) would be in the mix as well if I counted long-runners.

Intending to turn the Divine Power against the Gods themselves, the
progenitor of humanity Adam Weishaupt was struck down by the Symphogear,
transmuted by the Lapis Philosophorum powered by Saint-Germain's ideals.

The secretive Bavarian Illuminati met its end,
and the remnants forced into a corner by the actions of various governments.

And
The Illuminati weren't the only ones driven into a corner.

The former superpower America had once again turned its nuclear weapons towards Japan.
Facing international criticism, they were forced into solitude on the world stage.

Although they wish for a political solution
in order to prevent the embargo from becoming the spark of a new global conflict,
conflicting expectations of national parties led only to discord, and progress is nearly non-existent.

Even Japan, one of the countries involved,
had sent an appeal to America for a cooperative partnership to mend the broken relationship between the two countries.
Despite this, the act began and ended in superficiality and no agreement was ever reached.

The fate of the world is one that no-one can yet see.

Furthermore, the tensions run high at home as well.

From a place where all the city's landmarks could be viewed at once,
riding in a gondola on the large Ferris wheel famed as a dating location,
were Lydian Private Music Academy students Tachibana Hibki and Kohinata Miku.

The taiyaki they hold in their hands, filled with rice dumplings, are splendid.
Without being too sweet, the epitome of red bean paste has no faults to speak of.

Yet even so, as tension runs between them,
Miku calmly poses a question to Hibiki.

Sure enough, a question that the answer to which lies only within Hibiki, who is at a loss for words.

The threads of legend weaved in the past converge on XV.

The battle around the Holy Shroud occurs in the dead of summer.

With the bursting lake's surface as their stage, the Girls' voices unleash their radiance.

Between that story prologue, the tagline of this season, and the purple in the logo that doesn't correspond to any of the six main gear users but instead to a certain other someone who plays a big part in the series...

Given the ending of last season a few things could happen

Miku becomes a full fledged symphogear or they farm her powers or something to power up the main cast, or she just goes berserk again, probably due to the new villain

I don't think she'll become a full-fledged member of the team, but I really do want to see Miku fight with a Symphogear just one more time. The only time she did it before back in G, she was fighting against Hibiki after Dr. Ver basically took over her mind. At some point this season, I want Miku to transform and fight alongside Hibiki against whatever villain they're facing, even just for one single battle. Maybe her big surprising entrance would be using her gear's barrier ability to save Hibiki from what would otherwise be a fatal blow as part of an end-of-episode cliffhanger. Just imagine it...

Hibiki is on the verge of losing, the main villain launches a massive energy blast, which causes an explosion and smoke flies everywhere. Tsubasa, Chris, and the others shout her name to see if she's okay, fearing the worst. But as the smoke clears, the ominous sirens from the intro of "Distorted Mirror - Shenshoujin" start playing and Miku is standing there, fully transformed in her Gear, having protected Hibiki from the blast.

I can totally understand why you'd want that cal but to me miku is like, hibiki's connection to her normal life and their relationship is like a pretty clear "she has more things in this world than just fighting". There's a significant arc in season 1 that's all about trying to prevent miku from having to get involved in any of this risky superhero business. and hibiki's biggest fight in season 2 is trying to get miku her normal life back even potentially at the cost of her own life

miku definitely still participates here and there but I'd be kinda sad if she re-symphogeared again I feel like it sorta goes against what she represents in the show. shenshoujin is definitely a great song though

on a completely unrelated note, I finally watched the remaining 2 eps of marchen madchen. It managed to keep some of the themes/concepts from the rest of the show intact, and definitely looked a lot nicer from an animation perspective than all the later eps of 1-10, but other than that I think it completely went off the rails. Basically introduced a ton of characters out of nowhere, had a bizarre final "fight" that was super rushed against an enemy that also sorta showed up out of nowhere, dropped basically all the other plot threads it had going, and was all around extremely ????

I just dont see how people can think HxH is the best shonen ever. Over half of it is average at best. Chimera Ant Arc is great for sure, but one arc does not make a series the best of anything.

Personally, I consider JoJo the best shonen ever. But HxH is def up there. The Chimera Ant Arc is one of the greatest arcs of anything ever. Yorknew City is also a fantastic and great arc. I only really thought the beginning was weak. Once we hit Yorknew, it was hype after hype. Whats great about HxH is how diverse and unique the powers are. It's a lot like Stands in JoJo, you have this specific Nen power, and it may not look like or sound like much, but then you see how goddamn creative the user is. A lot of time fights go down to how clever the users are instead of how hard they can hit.

I liked Yorknew as well, but I think Greed Island is straight up garbage. The only good thing about it is it introduced Bisky and that Hisoka was still around.
