Trump's inevitable downfall will be glorious.

I have this recurring fantasy that as soon as Trump is no longer any use to him, Putin will release everything he has. Watching Trump fall apart will be better than sex.

Nothing will happen to Trump. The system generally does not work like that. Even that were it proved beyond a reasonable doubt he was hired personally by Putin to do a hit job on American democracy (He wasn't, I don't think the two ever had any kind of contact in that regard even through proxies, Trump just happened to be an advantageous circumstance for Putin) nothing would happen, because he has money and power., and we generally do not hold the rich and powerful accountable for their actions here in the US.

Anyway, regarding Assange. It is good for him to be accountable for his crimes (there is no doubt he has caused harm, regardless of anything else) even if sometimes his intentions were sometimes noble. However it is probably not good he is being held accountable for them in such a way that his rights will likely be compromised, and his trial will likely be something of a sham. So a mixed bag altogether, I suppose.

Must be why Dems almost universally called for Al Franken to step down and are now saying Biden should give up on any run for the presidency.

Meanwhile, Republicans rally behind people like Kavanaugh and Roy Moore, who have each had more serious accusations levied against them than Franken and Biden combined.

Note, I'm not defending anyone from either party here.

...so basically you're comparing a couple of Democrats who were *recorded* in the act of doing their shit to unprovable accusations against a couple of Republicans where the accusers couldn't even get certain details straight? Franken didn't just grope a sleeping woman, he had people take pictures. And then there are countless photos of Biden making unwanted advances. However, all that aside, Bill Clinton was accused of forcible rape and numerous incidents of sexual harassment and not only did he get elected president, but when he abused his office to take advantage of young women working for him, feminists rallied behind him and many *still* do.

Of course, you omit the part I quoted, which was relevant to my point:

"Believe all women... Except those accusing democrats."

Keys words: "Believe all women"

Kavanaugh and Moore both had multiple accusers. Republicans lined up to defend them. Dems like Franken and Biden face accusations and their party peers tend to condemn the allegations, if not the accused themselves.
